Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 9/4/23 4.30pm)

yep. A lot (not all of course) of football fans are cunts. Its that simple. They think its OK to abuse others to hide their own short fallings in life.

I always go to the west ham away game as my mate gives me his sons ticket. Ive also had his ticket for arsenal, city and bournemouth games this season.
Theres a guy there whose sole purpose in life is to abuse every oppistion player.
every other word out of his mouth is “you fucking cunt” and every player that touches the ball he wishes death on.

i have nothing against arsenal a few of my mates and my missus support them so if they do win the league then good for them. dont let a few bellends make you think all arsenal fans are wankers - look at the minutes silence yesterday. it was immacuate.

Because I know about 15 Arsenal blokes personally, we drink together we watch matches together and they are nice blokes, that’s why.

Lesser of two evils.

All clubs have idiotic supporters, even ours.

Well one of them has to win it.

yep we have a fair share of absolute morons. Just look at twitter. Its full of them.

Your decision
Fair dues

That’s true. The people who write stuff like that are clearly in need of therapy.

Not on here, but there are probably other sites for the more unpleasant element of our supporters. Does anyone know?

Wanting City to win because of hatred for Arsenal makes no sense either.

None of it makes sense.

Haven’t been on there for 7-8 years, so no idea what it is like these days, but RAWK used to be in the top handleful of football forums for it toxicity towards rival clubs/fans and plenty of people got banned for having the audasity to voice a different opinion to the mods/admin team on there.

There was another fairly small one, based in Liverpool that was pretty much for locals only, if you had a postcode that started with L4, they would pretty much mark you as OOT. Can’t remember the name of it as I stumbled upon after a skinful one night and the number of posts about Munich and encouraging the signing of the Munich song was fucking sickening

Yes I know what you mean but that just makes me more pissed about everything before yesterday’s game. That raises questions about the mentality of our players this season, over there being anything physically wrong.

Being honest I’m not sure how I take that to be honest.

What are we saying about Trent’s position yesterday?
In the ground it definitely felt like he was playing next to Fabinho in midfield, occasionally covering the right back position but as a midfielder. Konate spent as much time in that area as Trent did.
Definitely felt like a new position as opposed to the more free roaming thing he’s been doing most of the season.

Not as bizzare a piece of nonsense as Jones playing equaling 10 men on the pitch. Same lad that flicked the ball to Jota to drive the ball across for the equaliser.

Man city players dive about with fake head injuries too…so that comparison odd, whilst willing cheaters to win is also rather nonsensical.

Its a matter of opinion at the end of the day. People can make their own minds up on who theyd rather see win the PL.

Jürgen confirmed that that was the plan.

I’m not entirely sure he was doing anything drastically different from what he’s supposed to but Fabinho may have been covering better. We play with wing-backs but rather than specifying it as 3-4-3 it is more of 2-5-3 with the DM falling back to cover the extra CD slot.

It’s all rather fluid anyway. It’s not the same as a table football game. I think we just played with a bit more awareness of where everyone was.

Yeah the Hillsborough support group have praised them generally for yesterdays conduct.

Keyboard fans are easy, I’m surprised they are interested though isn’t it the transfer window when they chatter.

i want to come back to this because since yesterday i wanted to see what the resulting fall out would be regarding this…

im kinda amazed at some of the online comments on some various other websites have been…

i know we can all get a bit tribal…but the amount of sentiment that Robbo got what was coming and his over reacting is poor form is amazing.

i feel like im living in an alternative universe, where my eyes MUST be lying to me…

i think Robbos given him a mouthful, and the ref would have been justified in telling him to fuck off, but the action with the arm is blatant, and late…hes not fending him off…

@Mascot , to go along with your well discussed points about player protection, weve got to a point now that not only are the refs letting our players run around fairly unprotected, theyre actually attacking them themselves…AND…perhaps even more scandalous, is that the nature of football tribalism is pretty much framing Robbo as the perp…ridiculous.

robbos no saint here…but are people REALLY lumping him in with the way the UTDS, Citehs and Arsenals crowd and bully the refs…

would Tsmikas have similarily been defended if he left a stray elbow on Peps chin???

So basically, someone can make up their own mind but if it doesn’t quite jive with yours then it’s nonsense?

Robertson had a poor first half to be fair but has actually been one of our better players this season and VVD was bad which didn’t help.

Brilliant post. I had the EXACT same experience, down to “I know this sport is tribal, but really??” Troves of people essentially saying that Robertson deserved it. Unreal stuff.

Really troubling and dispiriting, honestly.

It was funny how the tv mics kept picking up some spicy language in the crowd. "Fuckin knobhead’ was loud and clear. The commentators kept apologising as if no one knew there was swearing at football matches.
They also went way over the top in praising Arsenal when they were two up, talking about how we were being ripped apart etc. We weren’t playing well, but it could easily have been 2-2 even then.
