Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 9/4/23 4.30pm)

As much as the opposite view is considered nonsense. It was actually my view/post that was initially labelled nonsense…so i should accept that and not go back with my view?

Or is your question generic, in which case i look forward to others responses.

When it comes down to it, a discussion on this (wanting the cheats to cheat their way to another PL, or will a team on that have done it properly) will unlikely result in a mutual agreement, and i was happy to move on from it.

Happy to try…

Did he get a taxi?

Thats where knobhead Neville shows his true colors in parts of the first half where we strung a few passes together showed a little bit of danger Neville is quieter than a church mouse, Arsenal get the ball this is before the goal you can shut the twat up.

It’s important to not look at this season as being inconsistent. We have been consistently good at home and consistently bad away.

To demonstrate, we have taken 31 from a possible 39 points at home this season. That’s almost 80% of points.

Away we have taken 13 of 45 points, or 28% of available points.

In comparison, City have taken 88% of home points, Arsenal 84% of home points. Last year, we took 86% of available home points.

It’s clear the wheels have completely fallen off playing away for some reason. I guess that it’s good Klopp at least had something to work with, but we really need to get out heads sorted for away games by next season.

It’s not that simple. As the table below shows, we’re now second (we were top before the Chelsea game) in shots on target per game away from home. We’re just not taking our chances.

And we’re not faring too badly (sixth) in terms of chances presented to our opponents on our travels:

We should have picked up a lot more points away from Anfield than we actually have.

2nd half…was he the linesman who should’ve seen Mo being pulled, so he couldnt get a proper shot on goal…or was that retribution for Robbo questioning his decision making…and the forearm smash…Can u imagine the outcry if Arry had been smashed…or even Posterboy…geez…there would be no blame to these duckeggs…but cause it’s Robbo and LFC, we’re being made out to be the instigators…stinks…

Is there really different reporting on that elbow incident in the UK? I mean there just cannot be any other opinion on that, it’s clear as day. You would think…
Just did a quick google search - all the article in the German online media talk about a referee(linesman) scandal, an intentional attack by the linesman, Robertson being absolutely ‘stunned’ by it etc.

I think that feeds into what @JU97ICE was saying, our performances have been somewhat lacking. If we go by what the players themselves and Jürgen have said, then they’re rather affected by confidence, which probably feeds in from the crowd.

They might be taking the shots, but they haven’t been able to convert them well enough, and the chances that we concede we just don’t seem to have the confidence to cut it out properly.

Apparently the same refereeing team that allowed Kane to assault Robertson freely without punishment, while sending Robertson off.

Seems to be a common denominator here…so is Robbo being targeted…

I’m just flabbergasted that Tierney is allowed to referee our games.

Or any games for that matter, he’s trash.

It could be a reflection of how quickly the british reports came out where they’re just commenting on it on a high level, possibly even without seeing it. I havent had time to scan this morning to see if there are different takes, but yesterday evening that was very much the take. It was a real “am I taking crazy pills?” experience

On winning the league, I don’t think any Liverpool fan is cheering for another team to do it. We all want our team to win it. Since that’s not happening, the discussion looks something like this:

If you are forcing me to choose between undesirable option A or undesirable option B, here’s my reluctant choice…

As a club Arsenal are light years ahead of Man City, in terms of being well run, historic, upstanding, etc. They have some vile fans like most teams do, but the Gooners I personally know have been sound. I talked to two of them yesterday here in the States, and they were both bricking it about going to Anfield.

Man City are crooks, no two ways about it, with 100+ charges over them, and we are waiting to see if the custodians of the game have the teeth, and the stomach, to deal with them.

So the simple and obvious answer is Arsenal to win, even if I don’t really care about them, as they are not my team.

But going deeper, there is a sense in which everything Man City are doing in this Abu Dhabi period is utterly meaningless. So one more title, lumped in with their other dodgy awards, just gives me a shoulder shrug, and a growing hope that they will be dealt with.

Having thought the whole thing through, what will be will be. I don’t especially care who wins the league out of the two.

Mind you, for the growing Arsenal darlings, I want to see how they handle CL football and a Premier League campaign. This season they have put all their eggs in the one basket, and they still might come up short.

Well well well…

If any other decision reached other than the linesman being guilty then we’ll know 100% football is corrupt. We won’t need a conspiracy thread.

You mean we don’t already?

The game has always been corrupt to some degree, and it’s only got worse as the money involved in the game has increased.

I do but then according to others I’ve got me tin foil hat on.

Welcome to the club. I’ve been banging on about it since Man U entirely coincidentally started winning the title every year once Sky took over.

Jealousy, apparently.

Ches for the stats but from a performance perspective, we’ve been way off our usual level for some time.

I suspect that our defensive stats have been well below par as well.
