No its not fair enough.
If a policeman beats up a drunk tonight because he is irked, will an apology suffice?
I think not.
The lino lost control.

Precisely, as much as people might complain about the behavior of the players towards the officials, this is a man bites dog story. It is also one of someone in a position of authority acting in a way that completely undermines his position. The idea we can just apologize and draw a line under it is nice, but its a fantasy that ignores the actual context of the incident.
What are you expecting or hoping that would we gain from backing them into a corner?
He apologised to Robertson on the zoom call which was quickly accepted. Theyâve clearly came to a mutual understanding that it was a nothing incident. Honestly who gives a shit if heâs running the line at Molineux this weekend.
Youâre all over the show, back tracking, contradicting yourself.
Ok, thatâs your take on it. No probs.
What I donât understand clearly, is the number of contradictions in play from the governing bodyâŚ
a) With the commotion happening before either Robbo or the Steroid looking hulk of a linesman had left the pitch, why wasnât the referee made to make a decision on the incident⌠They are quick enough with their cards sending opposing managers and trainers to the stands if there is some argy-bargy that occurs between them.
b) Did Robbo get a yellow because the Steroid looking hulk of a linesman communicate to Tierney via the communications they wear.
c) If the governing body have stated it was just accidental - does that mean the same governing body will now rescind half of the red cards they have ever issued, because Iâm sure a lot of them sending-offâs could be construed as accidental if almost a full calendar week timeline could be the afforded lapse between event and decision making
d) VAR failed to bring it to Tierneyâs attention for an immediate, and full review⌠or maybe they didnât fail AND they did inform Tierney of what had happened, and he crapped his referees shorts on such decision making against one of their ownâŚ
The whole thing stinksâŚ
Ok
We are going in circles discussing this, with some people losing interest (but still commenting)âŚ
I have a question that will help us all put this in context.
What would happen if the same thing occured with Harry Kane?
If the honest answer is not the same as Robbo, we have a problem.
Good question⌠Donât forget to put in some brackets
Harry Kane (Englandâs Captain) or Robbo (Scotlandâs Captain) :0)
The Governing body are so bent and biased, who can actually hazard a guess how their warped minds work when coming to a conclusion
I am trying to prove nothing I havenât said Robbo did anything vicious all I have said is that he got in the refs face, which a lot of you said he didnât, if that isnât getting in someoneâs face then I donât know what is?
Thatâs it just quote the 1st part of what I posted, tut tut
God you are a bit thick, that is the whole part it is a contradiction
Laughable comment. Sort yourself out. Youâre just a 56 year old child.
Yep I will always be a child no matter what age I am but I must still be brighter than you as there is no answer as you didnât understand the point of what I posted
Part that mattered
Tut tut
Not worth commenting on.
why do you keep posting stills when you can just watch the video and see what actually happened?
in this particular still, Robbo is giving the ref an earful about a decision, he feels emboldened to do this becuase every other player in the league does and not a jot is said, as the lino is walking away (in other words out of the situation), he raises his elbow and smacks robbo in the chin.
its not unprovoked, but its still an elbow to the head.
if its two players, robbo gets a yellow AT MOST, and the lino gets a redâŚwith you being a ref i wont need to quote anything about retaliation.
i get your angleâŚlets respect the ref, lets start to back away a bit and get out of the refs personal space⌠but why -especially as an LFC fan- would you use this moment to pursue that?
im looking forward to this weekends fixtures when Bruno gets laid out by a forehead to the nose and bernando Silva gets decked by a roundhouse sweep, with Xhaka getting taken out by a suplexâŚand all that will be fine, cause as you say, those lads âshouldnt walk over to him and be in his faceâ
oh, and in this weeks âyoure the refâ
Pep Guardiola is celebrating his teams goal and enters the personal space of Liverpool substitute Tsmakis, goading him and then offering him a hand shake, Tsmakis then elbows pep to the head
your decision;
1. Send Tsmakis off for violent conduct and give Guardiola a yellow for provocation
2. Smile and laugh at the situation, football is a passionate game
3. ask Tsmakis to apologise, after all, he has suffered enough already
The linesman was wrong and has apologised and that seems to be the end of it, but he should be banned for a month.
Have you followed the whole discussion or just the above?
I have, apart from using the still photo, provided a link to a video of what happened in another post.
The main gist is that all I have said is that Robbo is not totally blameless in that he did get in the face of the lino, several posters have said that he didnât, which is why I have used the above.
I have also stated throughout and as you have said that what he did is far less than other players have done in the past, using Fernandez as an example.
Lastly throughout, I have said that the linesman should have been disciplined as was Mitrovic, as you canât have one rule for one and another rule for someone else, so your Pep analogy is moot.
Hopefully that clears a bit it up and this is my final post on the matter
Agree
fully admit i just skim nowadaysâŚ
