Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 9/4/23 4.30pm)

That’s because he didn’t touch him. I think the FA have taken advice from the Kremlin on this one, by twisting the truth to suit their narrative.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to show here?

Look at all the angles of everyone else, Robertson’s is no different.

I think the argument some are trying to make is that Robertson didn’t physically touch him, which he did. Absolutely does not justify the reaction from the linesman.

Just seen the news. Kind of speechless to be honest.

Kind of fed up of this superiority “attitude” that seems to run through the population of officials and has done for some time. If they were actually any good they might have some justification but they are miles off being anything competent, let alone decent.

Another one for the conspiracy bank I guess and yet another thing to chalk up against this season.

Is there any chance we’d have a case if we attempted to bring criminal assault charges against the Lino

Looked to me as if he tried to shrug him off and caught him…don’t know what all the fuss is about really. Having played team sport for over 20 years I have seen loads of heat of the moment stuff like this. Always settled in the bar and forgotten about. Move on…

No way did the lino think I am going to deliberately elbow him in the face and hope no-one notices…

No idea, and being honest its not really a route I’d like to go down myself but ultimately that’s a decision for the club / Robbo I guess.

For me though, the whole thing, City, attitude of officials, governance, and so on just all adds up to a game that’s basically eating itself while boasting at how clever it is. I just think something will give sometime soon and the game will basically collapse.

Well no, not if Robbo’s accepted his rather unapologetic apology.

I would however like to think we (or the league as a whole) could sue the PGMOL for multiple accounts of defamation, being inept cunts, negligence, obnoxious, self righteous bastards that bring the game into disrepute & provoke abuse.

Heaps of vids, look at them and make your own opinion, for me, they were passing and Robbo moved closer and invaded his interpersonal space, but nowhere near as bad as other players get away with

I did watch some of the videos, and none of them showed that.

Looking at the statement, I’d guess Robbo has been the bigger man here, accepted the apology and drawn a line under it.

You know, like a ‘big baby’ would. I suppose a more grown up response would to seethe with resentment for a year, and then launch a premeditated assault on the lino, fucking his knee and ending his career.

A few of us have played team sport, there is no mystery or higher ground to saying this.
Its like being told “I was a referee”, it simply doesn’t make any difference to this discussion.

We all saw, made, received brutal tackles. Saw puching and all sorts on the pitch etc etc.

But in a professional sport, where accountability is high there are two things to note here.

  1. It matters nothing what Robbo does. The lino elbows him. That is unprofessional, bizarre and warrants attention. It is 100% on the lino.

  2. The authorities have failed all footballers with their inaction. If a ref gets thumped this weekend its on them. They have blatantly tolerated a violent action.

Just looking at this image before the elbow, who is walking forwards?

Bigfoot?

I really don’t care any longer. This topic is beyond tedious.

Both Klopp and Robertson aren’t remotely arsed about this, and to be honest I’m not sure why so many of you are.

The still shows nothing. Look at the video, Robertson is turning around on the spot.

Well said, things happen in a game, and afterwards if someone iis big enough to apologise and the other accepts fair enough.

Although It is possible the same happened with Mitrovic after the game and he still got severely punished

And that’s the whole point. I still think he should be given a hefty ban, just as I would with a player who thinks throwing fists or elbows is an appropriate response to words.

They should be because we keep getting shafted by the football authorities in this country. LFC had a chance to back the authorities into a corner.

In isolation, that linesman should have got a ban and made a public apology. Like a footballer would have to. That would be it.

Yes
That looks vicious by Robbo.

You are trying too hard to prove a point that doesn’t exist.
