Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 9/4/23 4.30pm)

In fairness to Arsenal they’ve only dropped 17 (i think) points. They’re better than decent.

Agreed, although in 2013-14 I don’t remember too many decisive refereeing mistakes that led to us coming second.

But yes, without financial doping we win that too.

Although…if we win it Brendan stays on…then what happens? Probably miss out on JK

Add in a couple of new strikers to the shopping list please

I feel like the league quality levels are lower this season and they are taking advantage.

We are just shockingly bad this season.

Its a weird season certainly, but there is something to be said for being the only side not losing their heads (so far).

I remember, just in the spell of a couple of days over the Christmas period a Sterling opener against City being ruled out for offside despite being about ten yards onside.

Then in the Chelsea game, Hendo got taken out in the first couple of minutes with a challenge that should have been red, and then Suarez got taken out in the box with no action taken.

It stemmed from his 1st post in this thread,

“Simply not good enough. There’s no way we should not be winning this game. Terrible defending at times. Missed penalty. Chances not taken. Need to do much better”

There is no mention of the fight we showed to get back in the game and how we bossed it after the first 30 minutes and his previous posts for numerous years!!!

I seems to recall we were denied stonewall penalties in both the home and away games against Stoke which both finished in draws. This iss off the top of my heads so that may not be 100% right but I feel like Gerrard was taken out while shooting really late in the home game and ref played on.

Anyway I’m mostly just playing devil’s advocate here. I agree with your overall point.

The consecutive games at City and Chelsea over Christmas altered the course of the season. We were robbed in both, especially at Stamford Bridge. Eto’o should have been sent off for a lunge at Henderson but instead stayed on the pitch and went on to score the winner.

I thought outside of Virgil and Robbo’s first half play and Salah’s finishing, we were excellent today and very well could have given Arsenal a proper beating.

I’ll take a performance like that any day, even if the result is disappointing.

I liked Trent in the inverted role. It put a lot of pressure on Konate to cover a lot of space. Konate handled it perfectly and was immense. Also put a lot pressure on Hendo offensively to support Salah out wide, he was also excellent. Trent created a lot of good moments offensively but it couldn’t have happened without the effort of Konate and Hendo.

Credit to our much maligned and out of form midfield. I thought Hendo, Fabinho and Jones were all excellent.

This season sucks, but today wasn’t too bad.

Way better than decent.
Their form is right up there with that shown by us and City from the past few seasons, they’re top of the league for a reason.
Fair play to them.

Oh yeah here we go…missy on MOTD2 says…PGMOL will look into the incident…and take action…Robbo is going to get all the blame…the official should not have raised his elbow…and the other linesman had to pull him away, when LFC were asking about the incident…as if he had some kind of gripe with Robbo or us.

Of course not.

They just need a good kick up the arse at times but with the crowd they get going the gears change automatically.

Probably the most bizarre piece of nonsense I’ve ever read on here.

As for the game, fuck Arsenal. Another team who routinely suffer numerous head injuries and serious injuries from innocuous challenges…I hope the cheating oil cunts ‘win’ it because nobody gives a fuck and they will be found guilty as charged.

We should have won that one. 2 shite goals conceded and 3 or 4 big chances missed.

This will sound harsh but playing with Curtis Jones is like playing with 10 men.

‘Harsh’ isn’t the right word.

I never took you for being naive.

There’s no chance that the oil cheats will get done- football, the media and the government are all beholden to filthy lucre, and they don’t care where it comes from.

Yes.
All talk of the Premier League investigation ended weeks ago, and the horrible cheating cunts are back to being the darlings of the nation.
Football is dead.

I refuse to believe the PL investigated these cunts for 4 years only to fold at the last minute.

I respect your point of view, but completely disagree with your statement.
I know CJ splits peoples opinions but to make a statement like that is unfair. I actually thought he was one of our best players against Chelsea and played well again today.
