Credit to Villa, who came with a plan and executed it well, but we were poor.

Complacency FC ride once again (hopefully for the last time)

God I will miss you Bobby, you beautiful mad bastard.

That was really poor!

Terrible display from minute 1 to 88.

Was the aim today to see how many balls we could put straight into Emi’s hands?

Can anyone explain to me why Gakpo’s goal was ruled out? I get that Van Dijk was offside, but surely the Villa player played the ball. I’m sure we’ve been screwed like that in the past.

Bobby with a fitting final Anfield game.

Mings should’ve been off, and ended up as their best defender. Trent got suckered into helping out Konate when the danger was behind him for the Villa goal (which stemmed from a 20 second long foul throw).

Trent had some good moments, but I didn’t like his attitude in the few minutes before the equalizer. The final 15 minutes of the first half, and the closing minutes of the end was the best periods. Poor in parts as well.

Harvey needs to get some nous. Ball going into Martinez’s hands, and he turns his back rather than running up to him, as the while world knows he will keep it at his feet ready to pick up when someone approaches.

The ref decided it deflected off Konsa, rather than Konsa played it.

Probably a judgement call if the defender was in control or not. Haven’t seen it back, so just going by what happened at the time.

Thank you Si Señor for all the very wonderful memories

I voted Gakpo. Looked really good, strong with the ball, unlucky with the goal ruled out.

Apart from Allison, Bobby and Gakpo, the rest were 6 out of 10 at best. Just not good enough against a very well-organized team which now has a proper coach behind it.

So, Thursday night / Friday morning it is then.

It really shouldn’t be called offside.
Konsa plays the ball. If its accidentally, then why is he on the pitch?
Mings should have been red carded as well.

Add Brooks to the list of biased fucks in the game.

Not sure who the co-commentator was in the stream I watched.

IIRC something along the lines of “Mings has been the best player on the pitch. I think he should’ve been sent off, but we don’t want to see a player that’s having a good game to be sent off, so a good decision”

Stealing for a living.

The midfield look so static, despite it being the same starting eleven for the last few matches. I understand if Jones is a bit inconsistent but Hendo really disappointed the Kop today by letting John Mcginn and Jacob Ramsey run rings around him. I was also surprised that Konate didn’t make a run forward to disrupt their lines as our midfielders can’t do it somehow.

We really need 3 new faces in the starting midfield. An athletic RCM who can win possession and keep possession effectively and has the legs to cover Konate when TAA goes inverted. A Thiago/KDB lite in LCM who is consistent and hardy. A DM who has a better recovery pace than Fabinho and has the guts to try the stuff he did offensively today.

Today, the midfielders failed the team with Fabinho coming out of it with the least blame.

As for the refereeing standards, the VAR was fucking weak. Should have strongly urged the Ref to take a look at the boot to the chest.

Glad I didn’t have to watch it, shame Firmino’s wasn’t the winner but glad we don’t have another red blot on our record.

Delighted he got the goal. I’d start him next week.
