Why didn’t VAR give the penalties they should on Wirtz vs Arsenal and Ekitike vs Leeds?
Or are they only for giving pens vs Liverpool?

maybe, but we were a team that stuck to a plan so in some respects it was the type of thing that you cant take your eyes away from.
we werent Greece 2004 bad though.
if Slot was taking a team of mainly plucky underdogs with a dose of quality in it, then it would be fun to watch on a different level.
at the moment we are a Ferrari stuck in first
yep, the commentators agreed with the ref and i think it was ultimately the correct decision.
if i was a barnsley fan, id be looking at the hand thats full of a shirt rather than the feet.
thats a different subject for a different day.
on this incident, if VAR was around, might have been given, and the only reason its still being raised i think is becuase people are talking about the feet, which was 100% clean, the issue is with the shirt grab.
Im not going bother commenting anymore it’s like being on an opposition fan board.
I thought it was the wrong tug, still isn’t a penalty and certainly not when you consider decisions recently.
But yeah depending who was on VAR they would soon forget their “thresholds”
I agree very frustrating isn’t it?
Not really a different subject to be fair.
I like @Rambler but I dont understand his penchant for pointing out the “ones we got away with”…
I was evening up the score with incidents that certainly should have been penalties.
Doms last night really wasn’t a,pen.
Just listened to the audio commentary by Steve Hunter with Neil Mellor. When Wirtz scored the 3rd goal with Ekitike back heel assists, Steve Hunter said, “That’s where you do the back heel…on the edge of the opponent’s box…” Brutal dig at Soboszlai’s howler. Hahahaha ![]()
I think Dom tried something he shouldnt…abit of a brainfart…don’t think we’ll see that again..
Yeah in TIA they put in a piece from Robbo and it intimated that Robbo had thought that Szob had disrespected Barnsley
The actual title of the piece
" Andy Robertson: Dominik Szoboszlai ‘disrespect’ was unacceptable – but he knows that"
When you read what it says in the piece Robbo said nothing about disrespect, bullshit from TIA, I thought better of them!
The only difference with what Dom did compared to what we see in PL games is he did it inside his own 6 yard box.
We are guilty of show-boating on a regular basis. It usually manifests when we are a couple of goals up and some of our players become smart-arses and try to pull off back-heels, flicks etc in the last 3rd when a simple pass is on.
The only reason Ekitike’s backheel wasn’t showboating was that it came off. Bobby was always doing that stuff and we loved him for it. The thing is, you don’t do it in your own half, and especially not in the box.
as far as differences go…thats a pretty big one…
Yeah I’m not denying that. But there was talk of disrespect and how it wouldn’t be done in a PL match but the truth is there are times when we are guilty of show-boating in PL games. Bobby’s no-look finishes could have been classed as disrespectful. It doesn’t have to be in a certain area of the pitch.
@jaffod is right. It’s been driving me mad all season. It always comes out at 2-0. Unnecessary flicks and tricks instead of playing simple, quick passes.
A draw against the number 19. How can anyone still defend the overrated Slot?
We had enough chances to win easily. That was on the players.
I’m don’t think anyone is seeking to defend him per se, but there are some of us who would like to have more of a discussion, weighing up all the points.
You might prefer it if the forum was a string of one line posts calling Slot a variety of names, but I think that would be a bit boring.
