Sorry just to confirm was that a typo for plate, or pate, as in liver spread?
You certainly notice when @Mascot is missing, don’t you?
Just finished watching a recording of the game. I actually thought we weren’t too bad, with pressing and a few chances created. We were more up for it than for many other games we have played this season. But there has been so much dross all season that that is the overriding impression.
Slot should rightly be let go. If it doesn’t happen, like everyone else I’m looking at next season with trepidation.
Presumably if it is going to happen it will be the next day or two.
Final word goes to Salah and Robbo. Two legends. Salah, so many goals and assists. Raised the bar in terms of fitness and dedication. Robbo a fairly unheralded left back when he signed, and he only went and proved to be one of the best fullbacks we’ve seen. Both will be sorely missed. Thank you for everything.
We played better today, less side to side and back, but still not good enough to put Brentford to the sword. Fitting tributes to Robbo and Mo. Let’s hope for better times next season. Lots of changes required over the summer if we are to compete next season. .
He talks a lot of nonsense but this isn’t one of them. We were clearly the better team.
Someone mentioned few weeks ago that the first 5 games of the season has actually made the season.
We have averaged 1.33 points a game across the next 33 games 12 wins. If thats averaged over 38 games we finish 12 on 51 points.
No we weren’t.
Virgil’s not happy…another to go…we will see
We clearly were and that is supported by every statistic going.
If you couldn’t see that you either had blinkers on or were watching a different game.
well, not EVERY statistic…
Fair point, well made ![]()
The statistics for the last 20 minutes (plus 10 time added) are not pretty viewing though. Same number of shots but Brentford had 3 inside the 12 yard line where 2 of ours were from outside the 25, Brentford had more of the ball, won 6 of 8 aerial duels, and had 6 successful tackles versus 2. We were on the ropes.
It is infuriating to see the way this team just loses its legs somewhere around the 75th minute, every damn time.

lets hope our new wingers last longer than 75 mins

Right. So for the period of the game where they went chasing a result they carried more threat but both teams only created one real decent chance each.
And for the other 70 minutes they did very little bar that one chance Ali saves.
I’m not saying we were all that good but we were comfortably the better team across the whole game.

Those first 5 games seem like a lifetime away now.
I remember thinking that winning while not playing well is usually a good sign, right? That we’d eventually kick into gear and then look out … ![]()
