Post match: Liverpool v Brighton (EPL 3/2/21 8.15pm)

Everything going wrong this season. The team looks flat and the manager does too. The massive hole in the middle of the defense is having a knock on effect through the side, so the midfield is imbalanced and the strikers a bit more isolated.

So, what now?

Well, we are not a bad side by any means. I fully expect us to regroup and finish top four, perhaps even second, but I think Man City have the consistency to win the title with some ease.

And then beyond that, we should give it a real good go at the CL. Even though our league season has been plagued by adversity and inconsistency, we can rise to the occasion and overcome any opponent, and we have as good a chance as most of the remaining teams to win the thing.

We are at a low, but it is understandable. We will regroup, and it might yet end up a successful season.

Difference is that Sturridge in his prime and not injured was 2 levels above Div in skill and finishing, no comparison. Btw Sturridge’s lethargy at times got to me as well, but then he would do a wow moment and all would be forgiven for a while.
