Post match: Liverpool v Brighton (EPL 30/22/21 3pm)

I can honestly say, in all the years I have been going to Anfield, I’ve never left before the final whistle. I don’t understand it, what’s the point, paying all that money for a ticket and walking out 10 or 15 minutes before the end. Would they leave the cinema before the end of a film or the theatre before the end of a show? No they bloody wouldn’t!

Not sure its a case of incompetence, but more our approach to squad building. We typically build a tightly wound squad, with very little, if any room for excess fat.

Since selling Cou and the big window that followed (18/19), we have progressively lost Lalana, Gini, Shaq, Grulic without recourse to the market, save for Thiago. Preferring to replace from within. Which enabled evolution to the Harvey role on the right.

Injuries are shining are slightly lopsided light on this approach in MF. But you could also argue, in the same way in CD last season re-Lovren, that we should’ve prioritized replacing Gini, esp when you factor the age/injury history of key MFs.

Don’t think Howe has a patch on Potter. Couldn’t sort his defence out and never controlled a match against a bigger team like Brighton have under Potter.

100%. I’m too much of a tight arse to not get every penny’s worth of my ticket. Even if we’re getting hammered I’d stay to the end. But there were dozens, maybe hundreds, leaving when it was 2-2! They could have missed a last minute winner, one that stands out in the memory bank. Blows my mind

Plus, it’s also bloody annoying having to constantly stand up to allow them to get past. I wonder how the players feel, when they see people walking out like that?
