Post match: Liverpool v Brighton (EPL 30/22/21 3pm)

but we needed a replacement badly red. otherwise all we had to cover gini’s position was hendo/naby/thiago/jones and the only one of those players that can match gini for durability is hendo. the other three are hit and miss at best.

Something else that was truly annoying for me was the crowd. Criticising from thousands of miles away is easy and unfair but I don’t think they helped at all. First they were asleep, after Brighton got the second angy and anxious and then started leaving in droves before the final whistle.

Their performance mirrored the one of the team.

A Mr Bellingham will be an obvious upgrade on AOC. Fits the homegrown quota too , if I am not wrong.

However, what we are missing is a Gini. Someone who is ever-present and gives a minimum of 6.5/10 for every game.

hold on until January and hopefully get a good player in… Edwards last gift to us before he leaves

There will be more of this coming up. Brentford and Brighton have tried and succeeded.

And i dont doubt that. Its damn frustrating being only one fit midfielder away from running away with the league

true, but i feel with different personal in midfield (thiago/naby/fab) we win this easily

We’d have creamed this if milly was fit. He would never let this shambles happen

Tchoumeni and Bellingham. Add Morton too, if we end up losing three in Milner, Naby and Ox.

Might be too expensive, and too many changes, but it would sort us out for years to come. The peak players now - Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson, would in time be counted on less and less as they age out.

Whoever in the transfer committee now, we better start planning for the mid-term. Or else, I fear we may see another incident where our best players wanna leave to win trophies.

I think the proper midfield should have either thiago or naby in it with Fabinho rotating with Hendo.

And unlike us , the big moneybags or oilbags are just going to dump money

to be fair our transfer committee is very forward thinking. its lossening the purses that is the problem.

Lessons from last year we have 8 players for 3 positions how many do you want don’t be saying Gini left we didn’t replace Harvey is his squad place.

No chance we win the league if we carry on like this. We’ve been way too open all season. Concede too many chances and can’t expect Alisson to bail us out all the time. Third time we;ve lost a 2 goal lead. Third game we’ve dropped points when we were leading.

It doesn’t matter who plays in the midfield. Same patterns even when we’ve had Fabinho out there. Obviously we miss Gini. There’s no doubt about that but it shouldn’t stop us from being able to defend a two goal lead. Right now every game feels on a knife-edge until we get the third goal. Most games we do but today we didn’t and once Brighton scored there was an inevitability about the equaliser. Credit to them. They were excellent. Fully deserved their point.

That will only happen when some billionaire sugar daddy decides to fund 3/4 of the entire transfer fees to replace those 3.

harvey and Gini are two very different players… u want harvey in there to score goals and then u want Gini in there to control game and hold onto your lead

It’s all a fair shout that the midfield needs attention. Enough bodies, but too many injuries and a couple aging out, or getting close to that.

Ideally we would have added someone in summer, but I think budget was the main factor, after buying Konate.

And if we are biding our time for Bellingham, that would be an excellent addition for now and the future. I’d also like to see Tchoumeni added, at about half the cost of Bellingham currently, as I think he will be a big player too.

Tchoumeni would be rather nice if we can get him, I would rather him and another AM instead if bellingham who is being priced at 100 million
