Post match: Liverpool v Chelsea (EPL 28/8/2021 5.30pm)

I’m blaming Klopp, too. He probably also blames himself.

I mentioned this other day seems a right doylem.

we are treading a very fine line with our offensive options. injuries are part of football and we need options up front .
Harvey is a very good player but i was disappointed that keita’s run was interrupted . keita is a wonderful player who was misfortunate with injuries and needs a run of 10 games to cement him self in the team to play thiago ahead of him for me was the wrong choice by a mile .
we did ok but chelsea had direct chances and could have won on the other side we didnt have any clear chances to win the game

Which agent is it this time?

Malick Kebe or some such.

He’s not Naby’s agent!
He’s ‘entourage’ or circle.

Is that a fact? And you know that how? Taylor is from Wythenshawe which is South Manchester, Bury is a town about 10 miles north of Manchester. No doubt his ma’s aunties brother was a lifelong fan.

So you admit last season we were at the wrong end of ‘loads’ of decisions but you’re happy to overlook all that based on 3 fucking games this season, the 2nd of which Jurgen Klopp felt compelled to go public on how our players were being treated and another where the referee missed a clear hand-ball on the line and then didn’t give us a single free-kick 2nd half despite having 67% possession?
I’ve got news for you, this season has started off in pretty much the same manner as the whole of last season.

10 men tight and compact gave our boys a fit. It will be interesting to see if Klopp can work out a Plan B if we fall behind in a match and have to work 11 around all packed in tight.

And you live on Anfield road? Or is it feasible that you don’t have to support the team where you live - and even if you did I am fairly certain that the majority of people on this forum don’t come from Liverpool, so your argument of “he comes from
Manchester so he must be a city or United fan” is a stretch - but it plays into the narrative so don’t let a fact get in the way of a good story right?

I was at the Burnley game and to be 100% honest with you it wasn’t a game that stood out as being a game that was poorly refereed (by Mike Dean, from the Wirral (so must be a Liverpool fan right) who refereed us even though his daughters are LFC season ticket holders). Klopp came out and said what he did and to be honest I didn’t get it, we gave as good as we got v Burnley, the game was refereed consistently. To bitch and moan about last season is fine because as I said we were at the end of some really dubious VAR decisions.

To compare this season to last though is a huge stretch. The only VAR intervention we’ve had this year is Mo goal being correctly ruled out v Burnley, Burnley goal being disallowed correctly, and the pen v Chelsea - correctly.

I have no problem with your opinion but at least make it valid by backing it up with some substances.

What part of these “biased refs” are you referring to exactly?

Against Burnley those biased refs disallowed a Burnley goal. Against Chelsea those biased refs gave us a pen and sent a Chelsea player off giving us a the nemerical advantage for over 1/2 the match.

Here we go again…
Instead of constantly looking for proof at least try to understand why people are taking this position.

Are those of us who see the way Liverpool are treated unfairly all mad conspiracy theorists (as you alluded to already). Or, is there a cogent argument being made as to when and why biases have been evident?

If there is the rationale for the argument, which I believe there is, then look at that without the desire for proof written in the blood of a first born son…

We had this on TIA…
There are Liverpool based supporters like @Rambler who firmly disbelieve that such biases exist. But he counters argument without referring to a section of the forum as fucking lemmings.

There are a few who passionately believe biases exist and have quoted reason ad nauseum…
@jaffod is passionate about this, and has been on the receiving end of abuse for his beliefs. But he manages to put it down well.

Take your time, don’t go the Epsom road.

I just dont get why there would be a conspiracy against us.

I take everybody’s views on board and people make good points - the lemmings comment was aimed at people who just add fuel to the fire by coming out with nonsense like “Taylor supports City/United” when it is widely documented that he is a bury fan and it’s just people spouting off nonsense that they have dreamed up just to fit this agenda.

Fact of the matter is last year we had some real shit decisions go against us. VAR was shit last year for everyone. We were at the forefront of that but I just don’t buy into this conspiracy thing. If there is evidence of it happening this year then fine but sorry I just don’t see it - I don’t class “Taylor is a city/United fan” as proof just because somebody wants to spread shit that just isn’t true.

Apologies if anybody was offended by the lemmings comment - not my intention

Please let’s not turn this into a rerun of the old TIA Conspiracy Thread.

Been there; done that; got the t-shirt.

My thoughts exactly - i hated that.

If we won - yay

If we lost - “there is an agenda against us”

It’s not quite that simple but we’ll leave it there.

That is simply inflammatory and unnecessary. It was never that simple, and a bit of reading on the subject would at least inform you of the genesis of the discussion.

However, as @cynicaloldgit suggests its not in snyones interests to re run the TIA debate as in raises hackles on both sides. But to blithely disregard other peoples views with one simple statement such as above isn’t helpful.

Maybe it’s best we agree to disagree

Maybe you accept that from time to time people will have views that annoy you, and maybe counter those views with reasoned argument rather than just getting annoyed.

Or, get annoyed but dont use hostile language.

Or, its a forum we can fall out and in without any great damage.
