Post match: Liverpool v Chelsea (EPL 28/8/2021 5.30pm)

ill have to go back and re read… but i think Richie h has pretty much conceded his ground here…lets save the pile on

I don’t concede that I don’t think there is a conspiracy - but I would say is that I should have put my point across in a different manner.

Apologies to all offended. Not my intention. I value the views of all just don’t agree with some.

Word of the day!

I think there’s certainly some unconscious “bias” or at least not giving the correct decision going simply due to certain players getting a reputation. This is across all teams. A reputation that is deserved or perhaps even without justification other than an odd incident and some MOTD feedback.

I think we are considered a bit too nice at times but IMO there is a way to both not wind the referee up and secondly sew a few seeds i their mind. This is even more important with VAR now I think when the game actually stops and there’s a review.

I still think VAR is a bit broken but that’s for another thread.

Imagine being so bad at your job people debate if your corrupt or incompetent.

That’s PL referees.

Or both, or simply unconsciously biased.
I xan get on board with incompetent, shouldnt happen but does in many jobs.
The rest… no.

Fair comment. That is clearly an issue in the UK.

You must be absolutely blind then. The amount of manhandling they got away with while we could barely go near them without it being a “foul”.

:man_shrugging:t2: How do you explain the first highlight then

Because it’s definitely a foul

I’m not holding my breath, the more I analyse it the harder it gets for me to see that the coaching staff have any grasp on this what so ever.

Nor am I. 5 years on and still not a secondary plan for breaking down low block. Then I always have to laugh in Klopp’s post match, complaining the other side didn’t want to “play football” and not make it easier for his team to win. :see_no_evil:

So, what, the 99 and 97 point seasons were luck?

That’s not what’s being discussed!

It’s one of the few things I’d fault in Klopp. We are definitely too nice, both on and off the pitch.

Oliver’s comments last season (that if we wanted Pickford sent off we should have asked for it) should have been a red flag.

On Saturday Chelsea surrounded and bullied Anthony Taylor. It was really disgusting to see, especially if like me you have a kid playing junior football. But the result was that Chelsea were able to attempt 30 tackles in the second half without giving away a single free kick.

Either we have to forcefully lobby for punitive action for this kind of aggressive behaviour, call out weak refereeing like this within the game, or join every other team in ‘Ref management’.

definately got a bit lucky as no managers really sussed it out for 24 months…

Congratulations, you’ve found one moment you definitively think is a foul, despite it obviously being Gudmundsson running into Tsimikas so he could dive there.

Even if it was a foul, it’s still one example that most certainly does not prove anything.

Yeah man! There was a time in the 80s they were really good too!

Right on cue, here comes the leader of the TAN Cool Guy crew. Regular fucking Fonzie over here.

Yeah that was disgusting, and I’m astounded that there wasn’t more outrage about it.
