One of my favorite cliches from supporters when we lose is “good, now we can focus on (insert other competition here)”.
So to that end, with no Europe next season we can “focus on” doing the domestic treble. At the very least I’d like to see them make a serious run at the FA Cup. I still very much value that trophy and think it would be a cool one to win. With our focuses elsewhere the past few seasons, now we can focus on that. We likely won’t have many new additions so with this same squad and returning injured players we should have plenty to make a run.
With no Europe, why not?

I think it’s down to a really tough slump combined with what is possibly a mind set of it’s not our year. Tough it out and come back next season. Some players seem really down in the dumps. We will weather the storm.
I actually gave Milly one of the Motm votes as he was the only one who seemed arsed about losing and got stuck in, wish some of the others would follow him we are too nice

All teams face the same problems, and if Liverpool is an outlier, then there must be some reasons.

Our midfield seems to be always out of position when we lose the ball attacking wise, we lose it no pressure on the ball, long pass from them = a possible chance. When we get back in position, teams aren’t getting through, it’s same with the press we aren’t doing it as a team and today they always found Jorginho or Kante in the 6 position to break the press.
Sorry if a player isn’t doing as he is asked i.e helping out Trent defensively, he has to be subbed no-one is bigger than the team.
Just drop Thiago. I do not see any defence splitting passing. I see a weakened midfield.
Kabak. Better.

Yeah, a Milner - Gini - Jones/Keita would have been more effective. Thiago seems to slow down our rhythm many times and even put our team in danger, by repeatedly making passes that placed our MFs into difficult positions - even worse than Henderson’s once infamous “sideway and backward” passes.

I don’t want Klopp to leave unlike the moronic people who rang talksport last night but I do have a concern he isn’t changing anything and playing the same as if he had his strongest 11.
He needs to change tactics. We cannot have a high line anymore. It’s killing us.
We also need to change the way we attack as we’ve become predictable and easy to defend against.
It’s not as if we are winning or losing every game 5-4 like in Brendons time here. I think defensively we aren’t doing too bad considering what we have but then we make it harder for ourselves playing that high line. But the main issue is scoring goals. We’ve dropped off a cliff in that department.
Also Thiago needs to be benched. No idea what he bringing to the team but he’s been a shadow of Bayern’s Thiago. The whole midfield needs a shake up to be fair. But no, the Ox isn’t the answer!

I do not want Klopp to leave. Ever.
But this is embarrassing.

I’m hurting, badly. Wish I could take a break, but just as I can’t stop loving Liverpool, I can’t stop mingling with you nutters. Crap, why do I feel such a bond with you lot, huh!!!
We have been in a worse position, but it didn’t hurt like this at that time. I wish it was just a bad dream and I would woke up soon. I wish the season would end now and with that all the hurts.
But I know I will have to endure for few more weeks.

Our midfield is very poor recently, actually since the world beater Thiago joined . I know its not his fault but he needs Henderson and Fabinho to do the graft for him. I think it’s time for a formation change with Keita playing in a four man midfield.

I don’t know what’s worse: the performance itself or the fact that it wasn’t surprising in the least.
There’s no point reiterating everything that’s wrong because it has been done to death. What I will say is that I don’t see any chance of a turnaround any time soon.
The team seems to have checked out mentally and nothing that Klopp is doing is bringing them back. In fact, some of Klopp’s decisions are as questionable as his players’ choices on the pitch.
I did laugh at the calls for Klopp to drop those underperforming though. Right now, bar a couple of exceptions, that would mean the entire first eleven, most options from the bench and probably himself.

We’re probably gonna sneak into the Europa though , and that will fuck everything up.

I honestly do think they care. It’s not that they aren’t arsed. Just confidence has plummeted, fatigue, belief etc. Not excuses just what I’m seeing.

Four incidents last night sums us up.
-
Sadio latches onto a through ball in the box, gets the first touch, but is absolutely cleaned out by the Chelsea player. Sadio is knocked off balance but instead of going down for the pen (which would have probably been given) he stays on his feet, and tries to salvage the situation.
-
Sadio again fouled on the left of the Chelsea box. He doesn’t get the decision, and instead chases after the Chelsea player, knocking him over and conceding a foul. No-one protests but Mane, and even that is more of a rueful smile than a serious complaint. No-one joins in. No-one gets in Atkinson’s ear.
-
Handball in the Chelsea box. Stonewall penalty. There are a few appeals from the Liverpool players, but nothing serious. The decision is quickly accepted and the game continues.
-
Sadio fouled again. This time the push is given, but while on the deck Kovacik blams the ball at Mane’s head, clearly on purpose. Sadio jumps up and confronts him, but he is the only one. Again, nobody backs up Sadio, nobody complains to the ref and nobody has a go back.
It’s been months now since Michael Oliver told Liverpool FC not to expect decisions if the don’t ask for them. Still the message hasn’t landed.
We are too fucking nice. Game after game we are an absolute pushover.

Wow there’s some utter drivel talked here. 18 months ago we had just started out on our best season in living memory. Remember? We won the league by 30 odd points, playing some of the best football the PL has ever seen? Go back to supporting City. Fed up of fickle fans

Trouble is Keita can’t play a full game let alone 2 a week without breaking.
That good behaviour must have been instilled from the management…
Human nature being the way it is, it can be the only reason why we don’t respond.!
