Post match: Liverpool v Chelsea (EPL 4/3/21 8.15pm)

Just the tip of one of those iceberg thingys. I just can not be bothered to go over it all. Suffice it to say Firmino hasn’t scored many and Mané has scored fewer than him!

That’s all diabolical, really, like every single external factor in this season. And it’s indeed something impossible to cope with, no team would have managed to.
But today it wasn’t the problem in my opinion, and today was a day so decisive for top 4, that what the problem was, shouldn’t have been…

And yet we try the same high line tactics, and keep getting exposed.

The games in which we’re forced to play deeper, usually with N Phillips playing, we present a different approach to the opposition.

Crystal Palace game? Diamond formation to get the best of of Shaq. Then we revert straight back to the same.

We set up against Sheff Utd with TAA disciplined. In this game back to the same formation.

Then there’s the subs. Putting Ox on has regressed our team each time. Usually disrupts our play.

Klopp on his subs:

“Oxlade trains really well so I have to show him respect. Milly trains really well. It more about waking them up, obviously Naby would’ve made sense from a footballing point of view.” [Sky]

Soooo??? Klopp says Naby would have been a better option to get the equaliser but he wants to show respect for the Ox…right. That’s a tad strange in my opinion

Did he actually say this? Has it been corroborated?

Astonishing if true.

Had to get the shop polos done in xxl …

If he had said he wanted to keep Keita ready for Fulham I’d have accepted that, if he said that the mind boggles.

Maybe Naby had a tummy ache or something…

Why so astonishing? Klopp too honest and open sometimes for his own good but an argument could be made for these decisions…though in hindsight they clearly didn’t work

Did you read the quote you pasted? He chose Milner over Naby. Naby better individually but he thought Millie might buck the whole team’s ideas up a bit

The season is over now except for the European cup. We might as well play the kids for the rest of the season in the league and give players a rest. I know we won’t but that is what we should do as the worst result for us would be to get 5th or 6th and be forced to play in the Europa league cup next year. It’s such a shite competition to be in and it fucks you in the league as well.

He literally did say that about our defending for Mount’s goal

That’s the plan now, Klopp is deliberately trying to avoid qualifying for the Europa League because it completely fucks up the season. To win the damn thing, you have to play 19 matches, which is another half a season.

We expose our defense because the midfield are all over the place, unbalanced and out of position. Oh and Fabinho looked well off the pace and that young man isn’t good enough yet.

What did he say about taking our best midfielder off, Jones, and leaving our worst midfielder on, Gini?

I think he must have felt ill like me watching the others wank themselves silly.

You aim to finish as high in the league as you can.

If that means the Europa League, it’s more games in which the youngsters can gain essential experience while the “first team” focuses on recapturing the league title next season.

Look at the bright side, we’re not going to be relegated. Are we?

We’ve cleared the magic 40-point barrier, so we should be safe. :crossed_fingers:

Klopp has been getting subs very wrong of late. You never sub Salah when u need a goal unless he is injured. He always tries to take on players and make things happen and is the top scorer in spite of our abysmal season. Mane and Bobby can’t find an open net at the moment. So you sub one of them and being Jota in.
