Excellent win. That was Mane 2019 vintage.
The second half was close only due to Michael Oliver - he tipped the yellow card midfield balance in $hitty’s favour - three times Diaz skips past a player, but onlyJesus with card frm them in the in first half.
It allowed Fernandinho (who else? Diaz skips past two players, Fernandinho blatant kick out to stop the counter, and no card) and Silva to keep making those sly fouls, whereas Fab and Keita called pulled up straight away.
I don’t mind the small kicks to let go to let the game flow. But when a player has to do skill then a counter chance, it’s a yellow all day long. It allowed him to have a hard kick on Mane in the second.
I thought that too. Not sure what he was doing, neither protecting at the back nor adding anything going forward. Think he may not be a mainstay next year. Hopefully he can capture CL and PL as captain this year…
Just another routine win against a shit side. Mane man of the match Naby and Thiago were excellent also.
