Our boys played an exceptional game. I could not believe my own eyes when we reached 3-0 in the first half. Unfortunately we switched off a bit to let them score upon restart. Mo and Diaz should have added to our advantage when through on goal. Then came their second goal which then put the game back on edge.
We should have focused on keeping possession after that instead of trying to attack.
At least I could keep an eye on her.
Best football we played in a long time, controlled 90% of the game and city lucky we were not more clinical in front of goal, score line flattered them.
Great game. To all who were there, you sounded amazing, good job.
A game where we saw everything that is great about our play and a lot of what is poor and costs us. With better finishing we could have had 6 or 7 yet it ended up too close because we continue to lose concentration for the first 10 minutes of halves and our game management/composure goes out the window when teams put us under pressure.
City embarassed themselves on and off the pitch. Giant flags to mask the fact they canât sell an FA cup semi-final out against their (in their own tiny minds) biggest rivals.
Our club should tell them to stick their apology up their fucking arses. I donât care how that looks, that fucking shitstain of a club deserve no respect from us whatsoever, cunts on and off the pitch. Give them no tickets for the next game at Anfield and make it clear we wont allow scum who canât respect the dead into our stadium.
Michael Oliver let himself down badly yesterday. Instead of refereeing the game properly he seemed more interested in maintaining it as a contest, scared to spoil one of the FAâs show-piece games. Fernandinho should have been off.
People talking about City playing a weakened team should have a look at the price tags on those that started, absolute bollocks.
Quad still on but itâs a massive ask and getting bigger all the time.
Playersâ wives joined in and sang YNWA.
MotM!
Agree, Oliver had a bad day, it happens, he spared Fernandinho in the first half his yellow in the second should have been his second.
I always thought the idea behind issuing a deserved yellow for dangerous play, was to keep players safe later in the game from the same hot-head repeating the act⊠Hence Mane was lucky he was not badly injured when Fernandinho continued with his thuggish play
I still have a bit of love left for Zach. He was keeper on one of our Columbus Crew sides some years back. He was brilliant in the MLS. Then again, it is the MLS.
But he wears that sordid Cheaters shirt now, so piss on him.
I assume blue moon have a 40 page conspiracy on the lad.
Deserved win. First half great, second half less so but we did more than enough. A few opportunities not taken, despite that we dominated the game on the whole.
couldnât watch the game âliveâ on Saturday, and only now getting a chance to watch it. Absolutely disgusting from the shitteh crowd (donât want to call them fans/supporters) to disrespect the silence before the game started. Their club and the media really need to remind them, that, itâs deemed safe for them to watch games in a stadium, because of safety measures implemented after 97 real fans lost their lives at a semi final 33 years ago.
Found their behaviour really disgusting and disappointed and I really hope the FA do something about that. As jaffod has suggested, our club should not sell them any tickets when they have to come to Anfield. One begs the question, who brings up people like that. There are absolutely no excuses for that kind of disrespect
More absolute shite from Jonathon Liew - as always he omits any reference to cheatyâs spending and doping. Apparently we won because city were tired but also won because we donât rotateâŠ?! (apparently Pep was keeping his players fresh for the CL and PL and this will make the difference).
Really wish the guardian would cancel this uninformed affirmative action hire.
The written record will simply show that Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 to reach the 2022 FA Cup final. It wonât show that City were still recovering from a bruising, attritional Champions League second leg against AtlĂ©tico Madrid on Wednesday, while Liverpool were able to rest the majority of their first team at home against Benfica.
Klopp and Guardiola have sharply differed in this respect. While Klopp has a trusted hardcore of around seven or eight first-team players â Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Mohamed Salah, Sadio ManĂ©, JoĂ«l Matip â who will start virtually all big games if fit, Guardiola has been much happier to rest and rotate all season. It probably cost him this semi-final, as a team bearing seven changes ended up being outmatched all over the pitch. Most damning of all was the decision to start the unfortunate Zack Steffen in goal: not so much an elite goalkeeper as the actor who would play an elite goalkeeper in a Hollywood football adaptation.
Apparently the most scintillating element of this three-pronged rivalry. WTF? Three pronged? Presumably heâs referring to the CL, PL and âŠFA Cup? Surprised he omits Peps favourite âtittleâ the League Cup and anyway its no longer âthree prongedâ you short sighted twat.
Canât speak for Bobâs but Weâd wipe the floor with Kennyâs.
Yet we also had 7 changes from our game against Benfica.
JoĂ«l Matip?? Also, itâs bullshit to suggest that we donât rotate as much. Ederson, Sterling, Silva,KDB, Rodri, Dias, Laporte have all played at least 90% of PL matches. Similar to the ones he has listed from us. It isnât our fault he has had a ÂŁ1.5b net spend and his bench is weaker than a team with ÂŁ200m net spend. Maybe he should make better signings.
Liew should know there is always a home for him at the Manchester Evening News.
You want to take this back?
