Dismal pish. Wasteful long ball tactic first half. Lots of poor crosses. Took some magic from Diaz to get us out of jail.
I know we say this a lot, but we really missed Thiago’s presence today. Elliott was a bright spot though tbf, ran his socks off.

Credit to Elliott he played fantastically and the beautiful finish by Diaz.

When are we going to stop being dickheads at the back? The only way we were able to win this League was because we had the best defence – we haven’t been right since early May. Familiar story of dominating the ball, creating loads of chances, and the opponents walk away with the happier result.

Not fucking happy with the performance of many. Will be very hard to look at the half full part of the glass, if indeed that much of it was full in the first place.

Midfield needs a rebuild. Its slow and predictable.

Nat Phillips should never wear the shirt again. We had a good laugh during covid when he was a cult hero but he is shit at football.
Fabinho is useless unless he has other players covering for him. I thought defensive midfielders were supposed to pull others out the shit, not the other way around. Pathetic attempt at a tackle.
Nunez is an idiot.
Diaz’ was exceptional in the second half, more of that is needed. Gomez looked good off the bench. Elliot was bright.
Everyone going on about the midfield but Jota has been the biggest miss so far this season, we’d have won both of those games if he’d started. He can’t return quickly enough.

Phillips was fine and is fine as a C list backup. Played Zaha onside for the goal, but he was nowhere near our worst player.

Dominated from start to finish and got caught with a sucker punch but kept dominating with 10 men.

First half smash and grab. Palace with all behind the ball except Zaha on the half way line. Guaita taking time on every restart. The classic set up to take it short, then send the players away. Then walk up, then back, then take.
“Now he’s been booked, he’ll take even longer.” Well what do you expect when you’ve been taking the piss since minute one, and only get a yellow in the 90th.
This season, the aim was for stopping keeper’s wasting time. Yet Tierney just let’s it go. Yellow should have been out in the first half. It’s not a factor of us not getting three points, but these little things tip things in opposition’s favour.
Also, two hands wrapped around Diaz in the box. Gives the ref a decision. Naturally, it’s to play on. Anderson particularly guilty int his, doing the same on Salah a few minutes before that. Again, Mitrovic easy going down, but a decision to make. Of course, a pen.
Nunez – silly boy. Can’t react like that. Klopp will stamp that out of him. Positives for us is getting back in a game with a man down.
Andy’s form is concerning. Tsimi coming on, but his crossing was awful. Them two really are twins – seems like they are in good form at the same time, and off at the same time.
