Post Match: Liverpool v Everton (EPL 20/2/21 5.30pm)

One team that has faced similar adversity to us? Any chance? I’ve asked, like about four times now?

You seem to keep ignoring that in favour of attacking me personally. I wonder why that is?

I’m not sure mate, he hasn’t played many vertical balls since he’s with us (don’t know what he did before) however in this match he didn’t make one (there was one match he played a few in the 1st half then none in the second if my memory serves me right). The thing is when he does play a vertical ball it’s often devastating.
I think the major problem is his movement rather than those infront of him he’s just not up to the intensity imo.

So in my version it should have been an indirect free kick in the box.
What do you disagree with in my version?

I’m astonished by Trent’s reaction to it if I’m honest.

When the manc cheat runs back on to the pitch after having ‘viewed’ the monitor there are a few words exchanged with Trent. There is no anger or disbelief on Trent’s face, just timid acceptance. Did Trent think it was the right decision? I find that hard to believe. Unless I’m missing something it looks the worst decision out of every one that’s gone against us this season.

The injuries and shit reffing, include VAR in that,we can’t doing anything about!
We can carry on like trained seals and that won’t help.
Toss plan A,B,C,D…whatever,out the window.
Not working so try something completely different, play the centre halves there, before we don’t have any midfielders fit, they are getting seriously thin now.
Sounds like Jota may not be far away away, when he is available, give Bobby a rest.
The whole lot look jaded, really only the CL to play for now and that will likely be an uphill battle with our comprehensive injury list.
Unsure about Origi,he hasn’t looked great lately.
Then there is the tea lady, for something a bit different.

I think the media are saying that it was a DOGSO and no attempt to play the ball slide. So maybe TAA is just thinking he opens his mouth and ref will issue a red.

In my view, you can analyse this using the offside terminology of “phase of play”.

FIRST PHASE the shot from DCL, and TAA reacts to it by sliding to block, which is a genuine attempt at play the ball (blocking).

TAA misses but Alison parries the shot. The ball is then in the SECOND PHASE, with the ball in open play for all to go for it. But TAA is still sliding from the first phase, with his momentum taking him along the floor. DCL is now reacting to the save in the second phase and trips over TAA’s head.

So for me, it’s a second phase, TAA looking other way and momentum carry over from first phase, so no penalty and obviously no red.

Any thoughts? I’m I tripping?

Obviously a genuine attempt to play the ball by Darlow in the Newcastle 0-0 game a couple months back.

TAA sliding to block the first shot and then not teleporting out of the way after the Alison save is obviously a penalty.

Jota getting fit is like having some work done by a dodgy builder. It’s perpetually two weeks from readiness.

These had conceded 15 goals in their last 6 matches. I think that fact alone sums up where we are right now.

I’ve no idea who should play where at Sheffield next week or who should play at all but it’s pretty clear something has to change. Maybe play TAA and Robbo as wing-backs? Give Bobby a few weeks off?

Probably be another game too soon for Nabby!

So losing our favoured centre backs and using Fabinho and Henderson from midfield has weekend the side .
Playing constantly the 433 formation hasn’t worked out with the personnel we currently have fit .
But 433 is Liverpool DNA under Klopp .
If we could have one more in midfield go either 352 or 442 and have midfield pushing forwards to support our attack .
We are to predictable at the moment .
And with Virgil and Gomez out , it all stems from the back

Imagine our reactions when we lifted the trophy last season if someone has said “calm down lads” next season you’ll have Man Utd, Leicester, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton Spurs and Villa finish ahead of you, you’ll be scrapping it out with Arsenal Wolves and Leeds for a top half finish”

Lol can’t believe how poor this team have become

However, if they went through the injury list, I’d probably understand it.

I read somewhere that at no point this year have we not had a minimum of six first team player unavailable.

That’s crazy.

And if you factor in the points we’ve had stolen off us this season - anywhere between 6 and 10 - we’d be 2nd right now.

Exactly.

Even with our debilitating injury list, we would still be a clear second on a level playing field.

You think we had points stolen yesterday? Or against City? Or Brighton? Or all the games we’ve drawn against bottom 6?

Imagine our reaction if someone said you’ll be without VVD, Gomez, Matip and your not buying a replacement for Lovren. (not to mention spells out for Hendo, Thiago, Milner). I think most of us would have thought fuck this is going to be hard!

Bobby has been terrible for months if that was Origi yesterday there would be uproar but because he from Brazil it’s acceptable. The whole front three need changing around.
