Post Match: Liverpool v Everton (EPL 20/2/21 5.30pm)

Really? And how do you suggest they ‘help themselves’. Kane, Sterling, the whole United team go down at the breath of wind and get given decisions because there 'was contact’s while Mo and Sadio get nothing except a card when they query why they don’t get it. Then you have cunts like Begin saying our players go down to easy and then says 'there was contact’s for all the others.

It’s fucking bullshit and now self perpetuating by absolute cunts in the media.

Should be an inquiry. By my count, he looked at the screen for three seconds, and gave himself no time to look at even one angle properly.

The way he marched over to the screen with an obvious cob on, I knew there was no way it was being overturned.

He should be fucking demoted for that. I’ll always be sympathetic to a referee looking at something in real time and making a mistake, but when the ref has been told by his assistant that he should have another look, and chooses to not take the opportunity to be absolutely certain, it is just professional neglect.

The other thing that fucked me off - more about our lot than Kavanagh to be honest - was the number of fouls it took for Gomes to get booked (eight or nine?) but Kabak does his first one, the Ev player surround Kavanagh demanding a yellow and he duly obliges. As Gomes is racking up fouls and stern talkings to, not one of our players is saying to Kavanagh ‘are you going to book this prick or not’.

This season we actually had the best referee in the country come out and as good as tell our lads if they want a decision they have to ask for it. And we’re still not getting the message.

Teams are created in the managers image, and I get Klopp wants to play football, and does not want to have his players surrounding refs, acting like pricks, and so forth. But he’s going to have to do something, especially in empty stadiums where the fans can’t pressure a referee on the players behalf. We’re pushovers, and I think if we don’t give the refs the opportunity and safe passage to screw us, then they won’t be able to. The are essentially cowards trying to find the path of least resistance.

Don’t disagree. I hate that it’s been normalised, but it’s hypocritical if we don’t call it out in our own players.

Kane and Bruno are the worst divers in the league. Our guys aren’t as bad but Mo especially has been doing it too much recently and I think it is counter productive

The funniest one was the offside where Sadio is ruled off, and Kavanagh let’s Everton takes the free kick from ten yards inside our own half. A place where is not technically possible to be offside.

It’s not a big thing on its own, but it’s indicative of the referee just not understanding the rules of the game.

Sorry I’ve missed that. My questions still stand. How does institutional bias work? How many people are in on it, at how many levels? No whistleblowers?

Not sure there has to be a clandestine type of attack on our club per se… but bias and corruption can be levied against us in a more simple manner… In remembering we are not dealing with rocket scientists here in the calibre ratings of the officials… a simple get together at the end of last season, in a one of their meetings, chaired by that Mr Burns tribute act of Mike Riley…
his leading speech can go something like this…
"Well boys I think you have all done a fantastic job refereeing the matches during the season…
Tell ya what though… Not sure how much longer any one of us will have a job for going forward…
**That bastard John Henry is leading a consortium to form a breakaway league… if that happens we will all be looking for work on the dole… especially if they run away with the league and amass the points total like the one just gone… It will really strengthen his claim across Europe if it seems LFC and that Jurgen Klopp have found the magic formula to winning everything in sight… **
Well boys like i’ve already said, I am proud of each and every one of ya… Enjoy these halcyon days for they could well be coming to an end…
Has anyone seen Jon Moss, I need to make sure he has heard what I have said this morning…?
He is at the buffet table boss, been there since breakfast finished…
Oh Ok… Can you make sure he gets the message loud and clear please…
**Sure will boss, we are all going on an all expenses paid jolley in a weeks time to ladyboy country, we will all have a good chat about your words of wisdom to us boss, we promise boss, we love the way you defend our fuck-ups all the time boss, we really do boss, in fact we just love the bones of ya all the time boss, your words are like honey pouring from the sky boss… **
Ok boys… I love ya all back more"

So ya see, corruption does not have to be clinically planned…
just get your low IQ soldiers (referees) in front of ya, and plant the seeds…!

Totally agree with this

Technically it was Kabak’s second yet the first wasn’t a foul.

To be honest Gomes should have been off more than one of his fouls warranted a yellow I don’t think he made one after he was booked mind

I think to fully understand the bias in the country towards the city you have to be from there.

In a way, I’m quite well placed to assess it because I was born there, my family are from there, I grew up in the vicinity, and then studied and worked in different parts of the UK.

As I said in other posts, I’ve seen it and I’ve heard personally, and it’s not just a football thing. There’s a big scale of it, from the low level digs and mocking, to full on hatred.

Yes you get other regional stereotypes, but the operative word is stereotype not prejudice. Liverpool suffers from prejudice, in that people’s behaviour towards the city, and its people, is influenced by the stereotype.

It plays a part in what LFC suffers from the media, authorities and officials, and whilst Everton don’t suffer it, that’s because they’re not successful. In a way, Everton’s hatred towards LFC is actually an additional weapon for those with an agenda against LFC to use, at the very least as a way of rubbishing the regional prejudice argument.

In fact, it’s the saddest reflection of all of Everton as a club, that they’d rather LFC suffer from it, even if the broader extension of it affects the city as a whole. One small example would be that Evertonians would rather LFC missed out on Europe, even if it costs the city economy.

As to our players making more of an issue of it, the problem with that is that we all know they’d get booked any time they open their mouth, as Mane did.

As the media is part of it, the refs can pretty much do what they like. The biggest disappointment of all is ex-players who were made by the club, and who got their second careers in the media as a result, not only never mentioning it, but in fact going on so much about other issues that the poor decisions we’ve suffered get completely overlooked.

Nobody wants a Rafa type rant from Klopp, but the club has to find a way to address it. If I was involved with the running of the club, I’d be leaning on those ex players who are still involved in ambassadorial roles to start questioning things a bit more on air, without going full on victim.

It still rankles with me how Carragher started screaming at Souness when he spoke of the tackles at Everton. Not that Souness is any better, because he was way too damning of a side that actually played ok yesterday, we just suffered from the inevitable defensive frailty, the guaranteed poor decision, and the misfiring forward line which has been off it since Jota got injured.

To be honest, I’m not too bothered about not winning the league. But the clear campaign by officials to stop us getting into the top four, when it will knock the club back years, and inevitably lead to people at the club losing their jobs, and the city’s economy being affected, is utterly disgusting.

You know I don’t like this country very much, and have zero interest in its national side. But I try not to hate it, as it’s a destructive emotion. But it’s really hard not to, especially as it is such a hateful place itself.

Some referees have an agenda. They are all bessie mates so I’ve no doubt they all have a good laugh about it when they go on their little jaunts to Thailand like they did the other year. Coote, Marriner, Atkinson and Friend all on a little jolly, every one of them have been at the scene of the crime on numerous occasions.
It doesn’t have to be every referee. It doesn’t have to be some far-reaching conspiracy involving every ref, the FA and the PL. Just a number of bad eggs. Just like in any organisation there will be some corrupt dickheads with no integrity.
I have to say I find it quite remarkable that any supporter of this football club can have watched all our games this season and still think everything is above board and fair in how they are refereed. Absolutely baffling.

Interesting, didn’t know that about the refs. Said countless times that decisions have gone against us and seems like there are various factors involved

Once again.

I have previously posted quotes from Rafa and Kenny on the subject of bias. Conspiracy theorists? Dont think so.

Clattenburg making admissions about bias.

I previously suggested reading Simon Hughes (not to you, but try it) “There she goes” to see how the city has been demonised.

Suarez was demonised by Fergie, became a diver overnight in the nedia eyes. He got lumps kicked out of him but that didnt matter. Salah is the current equivalent. He goes down easy …he gets lumps taken out of him though?

Heysel had a huge effect on the club, the residue lives on. All the clubs that would have won a European trophy but for Liverpool…

The Tory agenda, Thatchers managed decline of Merseyside. Read about it.

The " victims" tag. The Scum newspapers, the Harry Enfield characterisation. The Liver Birds, the portrayal of wasters in Bread.

No conspiracy theory, but open your mind to the possibility of bias. Its not as unthinkable as you believe.

And although its gone on for years, it really stepped up a level when we started to compete.

The 2014 title challenge was when it really became noticeable how bent Martin Atkinson is.

In fact, whilst we all know United benefitted from referees under Fergie in their own matches, it’s clear to me that the current scenario is both City benefitting from decisions in their matches, and a clear campaign by referees to stop their nearest competitor competing.

City’s owners are exactly the type to do this (look what they do to their own people), they have the means (billions), and they have the methods (secret police).

I’ll state my belief clearly - City’s owners have bribed or coerced at least one English referee, maybe more, who are now culturally driving their agenda through the whole refereeing organisation.

Just for context anyone visited any other LFC forums? What are the general thoughts over there?

I understand much of what you’re saying, and I’m Irish so I understand bias against us from some English people. However, you say the media’s in on it then the 2 names you cite are our former players. There are loads of our players on all the media channels. Lineker hates us, that’s clear, but I think we can overgeneralise

Wow that escalated quickly!

Everyone is fixated on why we are losing matches. The truth is it’s pretty fucking obvious why that is. The relentless injuries, having to shift players around to cover, the inability to rotate due to lack of numbers and quality replacements and yes, the clearly corrupt officiating we’ve been subjected to all season.
The thing bothering me just as much is the almost docile acceptance of being fucked over, typified yesterday by Trent’s reaction once the corrupt Kavanagh had taken his cursory glance at the monitor. Just a few words exchanged but no anger, no animation, nothing at all. It’s not just Trent of course, it’s the whole fucking team and it needs addressing.
I’ve said it for years, we’re a spineless club obsessed with playing within the rules when nobody else is, we have a policy of appeasement and bending over backwards so as not to appear out of line in any way. Until that changes we’re an easy mark and they’ll continue to shaft us.

I have a look on RAWK even though I was banned off there years ago. More and more people have seen it for what it is this season. There is a pretty large percentage of our support who now believe there’s an agenda against this football club amongst certain people.

I don’t know what Mo is meant to do. When he is clearly fouled he doesn’t get the decision. When he ‘exaggerates’ the foul he doesn’t get the decision. I’m starting to think he is just not going to get a decision.

It’s got to the point where Mo has to do his football with a defenders arm around his neck. There seems to be a general understanding in the game that you’re just allowed to drag him around and climb on his back.

The number of referees from Manchester and the Greater Manchester area needs looking at. Taylor, Mason, Tierney, Kavanagh…all gobshites with a history of fucking this club over. Anyone from this city who’s ever worked with mancs will know they have an almost obsessional antipathy towards this city and it’s people.

What he needs to do…
a) Keep his arms from flapping skywards before he goes down… talk about going down dramatically
b) Stay on the ground for as long as it takes for the game to stop and trainer gets called on… it is between him and the trainer what part of him is hurt
c) Draw attention to every foul in the area by making sure everyone in the ground, sky studio and referees committee feel the need to analyse it to death
d) Law of averages upon review, a decision will come our way…
