Yes but … would’ve preferred it we had had more of the ball.

We had to grind it out in the end. I thought our first half was excellent. In the second, we gave away possession cheaply and from one of those, they scored.
I felt Mo should have been brought off in the last 10 minutes for Frimpong.
Anyway, still perfect 5/5 and 15 points.

If it had been Trent today and he had put the Bradley display in he would have been slagged off no end.

Given the short recovery time from the AM game, I think Slot was playing to conserve energy.

I was surprised that both full backs stayed on for the duration, but Kerkez did well, and Bradley did what he could to accommodate Grealish’s diving.

Not the most brutal of derby games, but the constant diving did get a bit much.

I expect we will be much changed for Southampton to give the first choice players some rest.

We still had more possession across full game.

Lovely first half, we dominated so much we probably should have put the game to bed with three goals, but it’s a derby and it seems churlish to complain about that. They started to get back into it a bit, then h/t.

Second half was more even, they got a nice goal and huffed and puffed a bit, but we were not really in danger. Ideally we would have added the third, but never mind.

I thought Slot picked the right team. Grav superb. Kerkez very good. Ekitike continuing his great start at Liverpool.

Three points, onwards and upwards. We can all see there’s more to come, and in the meantime, five games, five wins, and one or both of Arsenal and Man City to drop points tomorrow.

I’ll take it!

Grealish not happy with the officiating after getting 6 free kicks for nothing.

Its starting to feel like nobody in the EPL is willing to play football with us, except in the clouds

Say what you want, but the complacency that visibly sets in once we establish a comfortable lead is both irritating and alarming.

It’s a bad habit that needs to be broken as soon as possible. Everton had no business talent-wise or otherwise to be pushing for an equaliser, and only did so because we allowed it. Granted, ultimately, they didn’t create anything of note, but sometimes going for it is all you need.

Happy with the result, very pleased with the 15 points from 5 matches, but it’s quite obvious that we can’t keep doing this and expect to win every game, never mind the league.

Gravenberch (spectacular again) and Szoboszlai were the pick of the bunch. Mac Allister and Gakpo continued their poor form. In the case of the latter, I suspect that he’d be already riding the bench if Diaz was still around.

Were Everton presented with the Premier League trophy before kick off? I missed the pre match stuff.
