What some see as doom and gloom mongering within the comments, and to be fair there are some written with a knee jerk reaction… I would like to think that supporters of LFC are more akin to be labelled as perfectionists, rather than outright moaning bastards… although I suspect we can moan like the best of them…
We are passionate through and through. Some of us have seen many great Liverpool sides been built and assembled to beat the best there is out there, and we have seen many great Liverpool sides disbanded and dismantled when their standards have dropped…
In short, we are not your normal run of the mill fans whose clubs never win a thing… content to ‘bob’ along, we are supporters that dissect everything to the nth degree, because we have seen it happen many times before, and know only the best will survive and win the trophies we want… If that brings a black cloud hovering over some of the threads on here… who cares… It is our historical experiences as loyal supporters, that gives a right to respond in any way we see fit… for we all know, with enough grit and determination from all concerned at the club, and passion from the support base, we know the good times will come round again…
Yes it is moments, but those moments are of an individualistic nature, switching off at the wrong moment, which is disconcerting.
Staying focussed is something that needs to be drilled into the players by Iraola.

They are only there for the fans and in this scenario, wanting to get players on and the 4th official hasn’t got his shit together the subs should still happen or the game held up because it is his fuck up.

A lot of the way refs apply the rules is based on formal guidance given by the pgmol that is distinct from the actual rules of the game. IFAB state that a tackle with excessive force is a red card, but that pgmol guidance tries to explain what they expect to be defined as excessive force. In an example of how much they have failed as an org as such a key stakeholder in game, that guidance is not public so we are left largely in the dark as fans, occasionally with tid bits dripped out by insider journos when talking about a specific controversy.
The point of all that is even within the secret guidance it doesn’t say “don’t give a foul if the contact comes after the forward gets off the shot” they have just collectively decided that should be the norm. But it means that the one time in 100 when they decide randomly that this time it should be a foul then it’s perfectly in the rules and people like Dale Johnson tell us to stop complaining.
That image proves nothing because it doesn’t show who drew the contact or when it occured? It was a ludicrous penalty decision, especially when you consider that video shows it was preceded by a blatant foul throw, which nobosy wants to talk about because we’re not Manu.
I’m not happy they were gifted a draw but at least I enjoyed the game which is more than I can say about anything we served up last year under Slot. It was exciting and we did attack in a way we all expect Liverpool to attack, at least some of the time. The best thing about it was that we were much better in the second half, unlike last season when we fell apart after 60mins because the players weren’t fit. Now they clearly are and will get even fitter,
Some players are still playing Slot Sunlounger style, mostly in midfield, but I trust Iraola to get them working harder and braver. He was plainly annoyed we didn’t win the game, whereas in the same circumstances Slot would have been happy and talking about ‘not losing’ and ‘difficult opponents’.
And it allows them to keep making it up as they go along, while reaffirming the contempt they have for supporters.
I’m feeling a lot of resentment towards Slot. He coached this dire brand of football into the lads. Pedestrian, static football that is painful to watch.
Midfield is way too soft. Isak frustrates me with how often he seems to be on his heels. Frimpong, the less said the better.
Pleased we salvaged a point and hope AI gets reinforcements over the next week to help him build a team in his image.
