First goal conceded is just embarrassing stuff from Gakpo. He makes no attempt to track his player who ends up scoring unchallenged.
Why was Delap’s throw-in a foul throw? I’ve seen it stated on here that it was but couldn’t see anything wrong so assume I must be missing a better angle? Soft penalty.

pretty shaky vs Delap.
Yeah he got rinsed once needlessly by Delap and that showed his major weakness - he wants to win every ball so he gets sucked in sometimes and beaten when he shouldn´t be.
But he´s a loan signing so, can´t expect perfection. He´s fine I think.

Interesting context from a former ref and former member of the independent key match incident panel
Take home, broad leeway is expected to be given for this sort of contact, especially by a goalie. What is expected to be punished in these situations is not contact but recklessness of a challenge. As such, in all of last season only two pens were given for similar incidents. One on Maguire (a bit less leeway given for a defender) and the other on Alisson again, and again for a challenge you would not remotely consider reckless.

Flo was the best player on the pitch (again). He is struggling because there is no movement up front. The damage Arne did last season looks like it will take a lot of coaching to fix. Defensively we are very poor.
Was impressed with Nyoni and once again preferred Araujo to Jacquet.
Selling Gakpo right now would seem crazy.

I’d like to see comparisons with other similar actions that didn’t result in penalties being awarded and how many there were of those.
