Amazing that the 4th official had no issue with the board when Forest were making substitutes, but when we want to make subs, he’s all thumbs, with one up his bum.
Have never seen Ali react like that, or get booked for dissent. Obviously convinced he didn’t touch him
There’s a camera angle that shows Neco looks for the contact when he sees his effort is going wide. He’s going down even before Ali makes contact and that’s why he’s so mad.
The moment Szobo goes to RB, the crosses from Deep at the RHS all started coming in when the opposition sat off him. Then I remembered, Frimpong was doing it but doing it so so poorly like his thighs are made of spaghetti.
“Hey Ali, played well”
Ali kicks the shit out the stupid board
“Yeah, well done Ali yeah Ali”

The team failed to get the ball to him for any link up play, but he still scored when the right cross came in.
As with any new manager coming in, hes trying to get his style of play on the pitch, whilst players adapt (or are purchased). Needs ti find the balance between ensuring results and sticking to his play style.
Hes having to build the plane whilst flying it.
There’s not enough being said about how well Cody Gakpo played today. He was put on the right wing for the first time, presumably because Barcola will be in the left wing next week and Iraola wanted to see what Cody could bring. He responded with a brilliant display where he was again our most dangerous attacker and got the brilliant assist for Isak. And he did it by going outside the defender and not once cutting inside. That’s not a crtique of him out left, just a reminder that he isn’t the one-trick pony some paint him to be.
The new phase begins with the opponent’s touch. Thus there ought to be no debate over the 1st phase and there’s no need to override the offside.
The problem they created for themselves(PGMOL) and all of us, is the lengthy delay before raising the flag. In this case the flag was not raised to end the initial phase, thus the new phase is legit and Oliver should f*ck right off.
This highly debatable play went against us, just like the penalty decision. Well done PGMOL. You’ve succeeded at costing the club you hate the most. Again.
Very good cross for the goal.
Otherwise just so so really
No it doesn’t. The player has to have gained controlled possession to reset the play. The rule is in place to not punish a forward for being offside if he is passed the ball by an opposition player. The interpretation is based on trying to respect that sort of conscious purposeful act.
There was a period where they were stupidily broad with what sort of touches qualified making life impossible for defenders (think that karius penalty on Kane after Lovrens failed stretched clearance) but they have tightened this up considerably over the last few years. On this sequence the ball was played forward from Wirtz and onto McAtee’s head a foot away before going through into Frimpong. That sort of unavoidable deflection is not close to what is required to reset the play.
The turn was quite good too…in fact, both goals came from us turning the LCB…
Yes he tried something. Think the defender should have cut it out first but he did well to turn and a good ball
It’s what you want to see. Your wide players trying to get behind their team
And he got past his marker to the byline several times to make dangerous crosses, positioned himself well for the chance from Maccas’s pass. I think that for a guy playing out of position it was a great effort.
Too keep some perspective, at least we’re not as bad as Spurs

Again same thing as with newcastle, I don’t understand the negativity here. Fought twice back to level after very unlucky goals conceded. The ref favoured Forest massively and was the key for them today. But still we showed great fighting spirit, we had many very good performances like Munoz, Jacquet, Gakpo, Wirtz and so on.
Also, we controlled the game for the most of it, had few moments where our press worked very well and we needed to play against the same forest double decker that has kept us scoring any goals in the past two seasons at Anfield.
So yeah, I’m happy with the performance and everyone else I’ve talked to is as well. I’m not sure if its just TAN or online discourse regarding us in general or just very different expectations for the season and our progress so far, but I’m quite shocked to read some of the comments here.
Ref favoured Forest! Is that all we have?
It’s not good enough. The team is unbalanced. The squad is thin.

Even Notasuperfan came with pros and cons.
Surely there’s lots to be desired, and I think it’s probably unanimous that we need to add to the squad, but nothing positive? All bad?
