Gini is a big problem as soon as he gets the ball the shops close.

I just don’t want you’re basing that on to be honest. Most teams on a bad run don’t forget the basics of how to play off-the-ball when you don’t have possession, and yet we have. That’s got nothing to do with injuries. It’s just really stupid.
At least they can move all be it slowly.

Well, given that how we are rolling this season, it is not unfathomable that we will be torn a new asshole if we get past RBL in the CL.
The tactics are a little strange in the beginning though. We still went with 433 with a high line despite not having the most defensively tuned defence and midfield.
Gini is not a number 6 and the difference is shown when Fabinho came on. I was a bit surprised that milner didn’t go off earlier given how he wasn’t providing any protection or offence in the midfield.
There are many stuff that I can go on about our 2 young defenders but given that they weren’t even meant to be at the PL level, their inexperience is acceptable.
On the other hand, Klopp looks so miserable now. I do hope that he is able to go back to Germany after the season ends on 23rd May , give himself and those not playing in the international competions a break till early july. We can only hope that those players that goes on to represent their countries in the summer can go for a break earlier as well, despite how nasty sounding it may be…

Florian Neuhaus does have solid stats this season IMO. Or, Rodrigo de Paul.
No chance, we need a defender to cover where we sold Lovren (probably Kabak) and all our players back from injury. Everyone says we’ve only lost the CB position but thats wrong. You could see the difference Fab made in midfield as soon as he came on. Last year we had Hendo, Gini and Fab, this year we’ve only had 1 of those in midfield as well as losing the main 2 CBs.
It may not mean much to you but those 2 CBs started a lot of moves, VVD with his long passes and Joe coming out of defense. On top of that Hendo allowed TAA a lot more freedom to get forward and worry less about defense whereas now the cover isn’t there and he can’t even count on the CBs to bail him out as they’re not the standard we normally have. I also think losing those breaks from our CBs plus everything from Fab and Hendo is why our front 3 look so useless compared to last year.
Players back, crowd back at Anfield and hopefully the end of this high line whenever our fast CBs arent available and i think we’ll be back challenging. A few wins, bit of confidence and we’ll start firing again. Sorry if all this has been mentioned, i just can’t read through this thread at the moment.

Not sure I’d lump Milner and Wij together. At least Milner was hustling and looking to put balls through. Sitting in front of CB’s not really the best place for him, but he gave it a go. Not sure what GIni was doing, having a casual espresso much of the match. Keita also worked hard, helped Milner do the dirty work, especially in the first half.

If Redbird don’t make money available for transfers we could wait a long time before we will win another title.
I’ve said before that we’ve been unlucky, but we’ve also been really disjointed. Every time we get possession we seem to forget how to penetrate.

Kabak is from a relegation team in fucking Bundesliga don’t forget. What we need is someone like Botman, someone who is good enough to compete with Gomez/Matip.
I’d like to remind you that Hendo is 30 and Milner is 34.
We also have no true attacking midfielder - I mean, someone like Mueller or Coutinho.
