Post match: Liverpool v Fulham (EPL 12/9/26 3pm)

:100:. He doesn’t offer much except from scoring, but if he can put it away most games we will do ok

I feel like his pressing is getting better. He nearly nicked the ball of their last defender a couple of times.

Not sure we were ever in it, but if we were we aren’t out of it after 4 games

Yeah we’ve too many nice dainty players. It’s why the fans are loving big Ron so much. We desperately need more steel to compliment the technicians

We shouldn’t even think about the title. Take care of the small things with consistency and the big things take care of themselves. We should work on becoming a progressively more cohesive attacking and defending unit. Small steps. And also figure out how to balance our energy levels between the CL and PL. As long we are making progress along those lines I’ll be happy.
I, for one, am pleased we didn’t concede today. Because the team of last season surely would have.

I believe in meritocracy and for me he has looked better than Grav in recent performances and I would have liked to have seen hIm start and be given minutes over Grav surrounded by1st teamers.

Yes, I hope he starts agaist Spurs, then we wil see if he has the potetial to play more.

Nyoni should play against Spurs and then let’s see what he does. Neither Szobo or Grav are covering themselves in glory, though as the established players on high wages you go with them first. If Nyoni gets a chance and shines, he will give Iraola something to think about.

Is right.

We are a talented but very flawed team. We really can’t afford a slow start. As i dont believe we are capable of making the run necessary to come back.

So after 4 games we are 1-3-0, when Arsenal and City are perfect, is being out of it.

Looked better in a 13 minute and 9 minute spell at the end of the games. So he deserves to start hmm ok.

That was a crap way to start the day.

When I watched the match last night, i thought we were terrible. However after a good night sleep I wake up and think we are fucking shite

What more could Nyoni have done?

He was better than our senior midfielders in pre season. He deserves a chance, considering they are stinking the place out every week.

People will go on about how they won a league two years ago and in a year“they will be saying they won three years, clinging to that. This team is not that team, the key players are all gone or over the hill, and this team requires a new way of playing. I think Nyoni (and arguably Mac) are more suited to it.

Our fans have been overrating our players and are getting a reality check, but things WILL get better this season as what Iraola does gels a little more and players like Wirtz Isak and Barcola find some form. But we must get this midfield to be functional ASAP.

All thanks to Richard Hughes and Arne Slot who were very puzzling in their squad building and squad utilisation.

Despite having two different head coaches, both players are still performing badly especially Gravenberch. The only silver lining is that they are young enough to have people taking a punt on them…

Gravenberch is on the road to becoming this era’s Joe Cole, which is astonishing considering he was one of the best midfielders around two years ago in Slot’s system. But he had a poor season last year, and has not really shown much in any other system. At the same time, at Ā£14M a year until 2032(34th highest paid player in world football) no one in the world is going to pay a fee for him. Right now, he is the useful option off the bench that cuts in to Endo’s appearances.

I am encouraged to see Iraola trying to figure out a role for him, but at some point Iraola just has to cut bait and tell management he can’t fix all the mistakes of the past few years and build a winning team, and they need to pick which one they want him to do.

The biggest mistake was giving him a 6 years contract at such a high weekly salary( nearly doubled his original salary) in Jan 2026 when he was dropping stinkers for half a season and all his limitations were at show once the opposition stopped getting too tight to him. What the fuck were Slot and Hughes thinking???

It made shifting him on for a transfer fee a nigh impossibility for us. Hughes has fucked this one up for us and set us back at least 5 years in terms of squad planning.

This is fucking damning. Our No. 10 covering more distance than our midfield pivot .Shame on those players!

All that running around at CM but it is all headless chicken running with neither defensive stability nor offensive strength…What a shame!

The balance is not right. Szobo and Grav can play in a midfield three, but if it’s a double pivot behind a 10, they need a lot of work. I see us signing Camara to help get some of that balance back, maybe another too, and one of Szobo or Grav to be sold.

I’m keeping an open mind in the meantime, as the January window is a long way off, and we need to get a better tune out of what we’ve got.

We have had several Managers in the recent few years. Both have inherited other people’s teams. Sadly Klopps team was not a Slot team and likewise AI team will be different again. However they also inherited players they would probably never buy themselves. It’s a transition period and sadly AI is wearing the cost of dreadful Slot buying. Unless the results pick up we may actually be having this discussion about another Manager.

Slot was hired as a Head Coach… so his input on transfers was limited. I would say looking at the similar style of this summer and comparing to last summer’s recruitments… it’s clear Hughes was driving the transfers.
