Post match: Liverpool v Fulham (EPL 14/12/24 3pm)

Good process lads.

Who was on VAR today?

Perfect start for Fulham with an early goal. Leno was holding the ball for 15 seconds from the whistle. Andy with an early knock (ref too scared to make a call that early), but then messed up with the sending off. Compounded his mistake with a lunge to get a red. Should’ve let Ali deal with the one on one from a wide position.

Quick goal by Cody after the break and we then dominated the play. Fulham went to the usual stop start tactics to disrupt the play, with the ref allowing them to do so (he didn’t speak to Leno once, aprt from 99th minute finally giving him the signal to get a move on).

Fulham with the lead again, after Quansah should’ve asserted his physicality more. Unlucky deflection (to add to the first goal deflection off Andy).

Jota added some calm and coolness when he came on. Wonderful goal, and though there looked like just one winner after that, we couldn’t get the winner. Huge effort though from being a man down so early in the game.

Slot – feel he needs to rotate more to keep things fresh later in the season. Could have made 3 changes in the first sub as our midfield was gassed at times in that period. Having said that, I was glad Slot made tactical changes to get the right positioning in the initial 10 minutes after the sending off. Could easily have decided to be solid and compact and give it a go in the final 20 minutes. Glad to took the Klopp style of keep on going for the win.

Major rotation please for the Carling Cup. The likes of Grav and Salah shouldn’t even be on the bench imo.

Thats what I thought it wasn’t obvious as his touch was heavy and towards the recovery run of Virg

Ref obviously wanted Fulham to win
wrong calls at the wrong time
and incorrect xtra time called

The plump Ass Ref needs his eyes tested. Obvious deflection right in front of him, and needed the further away ref to correct it.

Don’t know if folks have pointed this out already, but Slots tactical adjustments in the 1hf on going a man down without having to use substitutes was nothing short of brilliant.

A good point under the circumstances. Playing with 10 men most of the game against a well organized team. Unlucky in the last 15 minutes with some good chances but they missed some good chances early on the game as well
 Arsenal dropping points also.
Ibou and Costas coming back soon will benefit us too.

I’m not one who pushes hard for new signings, but feel a couple of new faces to bolster numbers would help in the upcoming window, LB, CB and possibly another 6

Just get Hincapie, who can do both!

Can he overlap/underlap as that is a requirement of our FB’s

I’m pretty sure at one point the camera was on Arne tapping his wrist, and at another point he was literally counting and gesturing the seconds Leno had spent holding onto the ball

Isn’t that the 3 positions we’ve been looking to add to?

Surely that means at least one centre-back and one left-back leaving? We won’t carry more than two per slot available.

By the time the window opens both Konaté and Tsimikas should be back in any case.
