Good news is that the Slot/Robertson bans will be in the League Cup match with both available for the next league game.

Not good enough really. Some good performances, lots of endeavour, however the positives are overshadowed by Robertson and the fact two points have been dropped. Four points dropped now the last 2 games. Frustrating. Refereeing wasnā€™t great mind, and Fulham perhaps lucky not going down to 10 to begin with.

Left back is certainly a position which needs upgrading. Has done for a while.

This is interesting. I dont think Ive ever seen a player say something like this, at least about a ref in a domestic game. I wonder what exactly heā€™s talking about.

To me, he is talking in a language that will not bring him a hefty fine for saying the referee was crap all gameā€¦ :0)

I donā€™t think thatā€™s right about Robertson and it also sounds like they contradict themselves.

Wait it might be the yellows Iā€™m thinking regarding Grav.

FT: Liverpool 2-2 Fulham

Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva to BBC Match of the Day: "The game is emotional here. The crowd plays a big part and with the quality of Liverpool, they can almost be unstoppable. itā€™s the risk you have to take because we believe in ourselves. Liverpool are so good and they are winning so good, they are an aggressive team. Everything went to plan for us on the left-hand side.

"I think the red card created more emotion in the game, the crowd played their part. We had to keep more of the ball and make them run more. We reacted well and had so many times three against four, the decision-making has to be better. We conceded a late goal in a moment we were too open and the quality of Jota made an impact. We should have taken three.

"With one player more and leading the score, we should have been more narrow. We were too open and their composure was decisive.

ā€œThe momentum is here and in our group. I have to give credit to our players for their attitude and commitment. We have to go in the same way against Southampton next week.ā€

And Gomez got flattened by Tete trying to block a shot. VAR and the ref ruled that as normal play. These things happen in football.

Some overhead kicks can of course be classed as reckless. Not the Diaz one. Here is a quote from The Guardian match report: ā€œā€¦Luis DĆaz also being booked for a perfectly legitimate attempt at an overhead kickā€¦ā€

What Gravy did today is the sort of thing you cannot pick out with the numbers. Slot was fascinating trying to figure out how to adapt to the loss of the LB with the players he already had on the pitch rather than using a sub to deal with it, but all of those changes revolved around Gravy being able to adapt

It is just that we have seen this too often, with players being injured, although, Jota, Konate and Tsimi current injuries are down to ā€˜knocksā€™ rather than pulls or strains.

Regarding Trent, yes when in possession he was filling in midfield, but he has to switch on more, as for me, he was out of position/got his positioning wrong for both their goals and that is the area Fulham were targeting as he gets no help from Mo.

Pity Bradley is also injured as I feel he would have come on earlier in this game

Is that accurate about Robertson? It literally states that players canā€™t serve their suspensions across different FA competitions.

That saw him kick a defender in the head. The fact his attempt was a legitimate attempt to shoot is irrelevant.

First of all, great job to all the ten men in red today who fought all the way to the end! It was a valiant fight. Kudos to the subs ( Nunez, Jota and Elliott) who fought hard to get that 1 point that might win the title. Gakpo and Salah gets a special mention for combining for the first equaliser.

As for the defence, it was an absolute horror show bar for VVD and Gomez who performed admirably in those circumstances.

The full-backs were bad, really bad.

First, Robertson. At this age, he should be able to tell if he can continue the match or not. If he decides to continue, then he should be fully responsible for this performance.

First mistake came by not tracking Andrea Pereiras effectively. That was some shit level of defensive awareness that we seen before from Alberto Moreno.

Then, he made the biggest fuck ups in straight succession. Managed to cover Wilson correctly but for some reason, his touch or pass was so bad that the ball just bounced from him for quite a distance.

Inexplicably, instead of duelling with Wilson for the ball that allows time for his team-mates for fall back and the keeper to rush out, he decides to do a risky move by lunging in immediately, knowing he is the last man with 1 goal down. That was very irresponsible for a senior member of the squad.

Next, we have TAA. He used to have a pass in his defensive duties due to his very pin-point passes in open play and set-pieces. Today, his corners were crap.

His willingness to defend is not there at all where I donā€™t really see him making much recovery runs at all. If he wants go to RM by not signing a contract soon, then I hope we get a fee for him in Jan and get a replacement in Jan.

With this kind of performance consistently, he would be enjoying his prime at Madrid on the bench with subs appearances to rotate with Vasquez until Carvajal fully recovers.

It will also come to a point when the crowd at the Bernabeu will start turning on him and start demanding for the next shiny toy at RB if TAA fails to recognise heā€™s a defender. By then, he might turn out to be the next Barca version of Coutinhoā€¦

It is all up to FSG and Edwards to find the most suitable LB & DM and possibly a CB in the winter window for Slot to give it a good go at the Double. As for the summer window, a CB if he is not acquired during the winter window, a RB if TAA signs with RM.

I said in game it was harsh as he had no idea where the player was but also understandable, as you said he kicked him in the head

Yeah, I dont know what that article is getting at and its certainly confusing. But it is my understanding that domestic suspensions are served in the next domestic game regardless of competition.

I read that as the yellow cards not accumulating across different competitions.

So why didnā€™t Tete get a yellow for the legitimate attempt at blocking a shot but taking out a player on his blindside instead.

I thought todayā€™s result was huge. This may be the result where we will look back and conclude this is where we won the league. Not the draw, of course, but the fight back and sheer determination to get something from the match, and that we were gutted that we didnā€™t win. I was very impressed.

A shout out to Darwin. Heā€™s had a rough few days, but it was his pass to Jota that drew the match.

I think itā€™s really just PTSD. I donā€™t know whatā€™s up with Tsimikas, but his last injury for us was a shoulder injury from a rather bizarre incident wasnā€™t it?

At least Jota is back.

If he wasnā€™t he would have taken quite a lot of minutes from Alexander-Arnold, who would be much fresher.

Thatā€™s what I mean though, it might have been that it was just instructions that Arne got wrong. We donā€™t really know. Iā€™d expect that if it happened once or twice it would be his fault, but if itā€™s a recurrent theme, surely Arne would have told him that by then.

Dude, itā€™s a joke. I love Darwin, if you look at my posts, I never say something too negative even if he does badly, and always root for him.

Apparently everyone gets the ā€œDamn it, Darwin!ā€ joke that people usually post without malice here, so it must be that itā€™s a new oneā€¦
