Why would you compare the two when in one a defender was kicked in the head, and the other no one was kicked in the head. It seems the lack of lack of head kicking explains why they’d be treated separately, even without taking into the account the other pretty substantial differences between these two completely separate incidents.
How to tell we’ve dropped points.
Shit like this comes out of the woodworks.
Yeah that injuries website lists 22/12 as his potential return so they’ve got it down at that.
To be fair he needs a rest.
Darwin did well I thought. Notably, he had no big chances to fluff for people to angry about. The only real sniff he had was the header from the Harvey free kick, but it was a weak cross and not in a position where he could really attack it so not enough for anyone to get upset about.
A tough match and a good point considering the circumstances. Both of their goals had an element of luck with the deflections. Robbo’s first touch was poor and I don’t think he could have any complaints about the red card. Thought Jota was excellent when he came on and looked really sharp. Gave Grav my MOM after filling in well at the back. A very solid team display from our ten men with everyone giving their all.
Agree on the PTSD.
On Trent, no excuse for the 1st he had Robinson in his sights and was 2/3 yards out of position and an easy pass put Robinson in behind him to cross for the goal.
On the 2nd he reacted to slow and in hindsight should have grabbed the shirt harder of Iwobi and took a yellow. I know from an interview with Trent that Slot has discussed with him in regards to bein alert and switched on defensively and he wasn’t on both Fulhams goals
I agree with our manager Robinson should have got anther yellow for injuring Robbo and therefore a red.
I said in the other thread, but I believe this kind of game was important for Slot and the coaching staff to experience. Our backs against the wall, battling against adversity, and showing some fight. It’ll show Slot and co a lot about the players, whether good or bad. Like Klopp once said, it’s all about the common experiences, and we managed to get a point in the end.
Interesting that Trent is grief for both of their goals given the similarities in build up to both and the different roles he played in them
In the first, Gravy came in to close down the man with the ball allowing Trent to switch his responsibility to the off the ball runner. Gravy didnt get enough pressure on the ball and Trent didnt do a good enough job staying with the runner meaning when the ball was played to him he had enough room to put in a cross.
In the second, it was Quansah playing the Trent role. Initially looking like he had two players, but ultimately being clear his responsibility was the runner and not doing a good enough job to stay with him allowing the cross to come in.
In both cases the hand off was pretty clean, but I think it was just a case that Robinson is too quick and neither of our lads could stay with him once he was into full stride.
Phew, I was getting confused as normally when I stay away from watching the entirety of our matches live on tv we win. This one’s on @Mascot
Gravs positioning was fine he was in position to slow him down and prevent him from moving forward with the ball and also stopping a 2 v 1, he gave Iwobi only one option the pass to Robinson and Trent was 2 - 3 yards out of position and a simple pass put him behind Trent. Yes Robinson is fast, but Trent would know that!
and now do Quansah.
Both goals came from Robinson clearly being handed off to a defender who did not close enough to him to prevent him putting in the goal creating cross. That defender was only Trent on one of the goals.
Slot also won manager of the month.
According to the iPaper:
Fulham could have been down to nine men by the time Andy Robertson was sent off after dangerous tackles from Issa Diop and Andreas Pereira
AS calling Jota… Jota - Not Diego :0)

FT: Liverpool 2-2 Fulham
Liverpool boss Arne Slot to BBC Match of the Day: "So many things happened but what stood out for me was how impressive our performance was with 10 men. The result is disappointing if you play at home to Fulham. The game was stopped for so many minutes so maybe that helped us.
"We ran for 11. The players put in an outstanding performance with pressing. We had more problems at 11 v 11 than we did when we were down to 10. It happens in a season that you get a red card. It’s good we are a team that is very difficult to beat.
"We had Jota back, Harvey Elliott, we have players back and they showed up. I couldn’t have asked for more.
"Jota is so intelligent with his positioning and with what to do with the ball. It was a great team goal. It’s nice to have him back, he’s been away for two months.
“We lost to Nottingham, Arsenal, Newcastle we dropped points. You can look at it that way but you don’t want to drop points in a home game against Forest and Fulham.”
Interviewer: Tough game today, Arne. Fulham made life difficult for you. Tell me your thoughts
Arne: I cannot believe we lost to Forest
I would hope not, given he’s called Diogo.
Thanks for keeping it brief!
The commentator in my coverage was saying it was the right decision for Quansah to not shoot from outside the box as stats say the chances of scoring are less when you shoot or something on those lines.
It irked me for some reason. Everything shouldn’t be just based on stats. The goals scored from outside the box are such a beauty when hit nicely and it goes in. The joy in watching those is so different than the usual goals teams score.
It’s all about winning, right passes, no risks, no skills to take on the defender in front of you these days. Football is for entertainment and lot more than just about winning anyhow, atleast for me.
Fck Mancity for cheating and killing the beautiful game where perfection is everything. Draws like today are and should be part of football. I thoroughly enjoyed the game today no matter the result.
