Post match: Liverpool v Leeds (EPL 1/1/26 5.30pm)

This is why I take with a pinch of salt the positivity over a period where we’ve conceded fewer and look harder to beat. That hasn’t happened because we finally got better at things we were struggling with It’s happened because we’ve changed our identity in an attempt to eek out some results and sacrificed a lot of what we want to do and that which made us good last year and would be part of the finished version of Slotball. There is no natural pathway from here to there

This is an embarrassing sequence. Just an utter waste of effort from the 3 lads running around in attempts that were always going to be futile, and does less to help defend than if they just dropped off and got behind the ball

Actually there’s a pathway from stability to a return to normalcy.

The key is timing…

Stability breeds normalcy.
Normalcy leads to confidence.

I want to learn to draw the ball off the tee
Attempts to draw the ball are a disaster
Stops trying to draw my drives and restores some reliability off the tee
Thinks “well I guess that’s fixed the issue, I guess it’s time to go back to drawing the ball”
Proceeds to be a shit again

I think you can do better than that analogy…

No, it’s being run by the same kid, only he is having a go at sarcastic pretend positivity as his latest wind up attempt.

Maybe. The key is timing.

Look at this shit…try and score with 3 players and defend with 8

i know im beating a dead horse here, but i dont see slot here next season. the players we signed (isak, hugo and flo) are more quick strike football players and slots style (whatever that is) just does not complement the players we have signed.

Slot is embarrassing.Spent 400 mil and still complains about the mythical low block. Can’t stand him and his brand of football.

Disappointing to draw despite a reasonable performance. The starting line up did well except some technical errors I just thought we might have had a little extra bite if Macca had started instead of Szoboszlai. That we play a bit slow isn’t bothering me so much as we need to start somewhere the problem is those technical errors at training pitch speed really isn’t on.
A bit more movement and fewer technical errors and some acceleration could see us doing a lot better.
When the subs came on our play took a downward turn, well what do you expect if you take off our best 2 players, Wirtz and Jones. Gakpo just just isn’t looking like hitting any form this season. We can see why Slot lines a small squad he’s just not up to it tactically.
We held on for the draw which was good .

Sam not the brightest tool is he.

For all the teeth gnashing this Leeds side aren’t cannon-fodder rocking up for a battering. Month ago City needed an injury time winner to beat them at home. Comfortably beat Chelsea at the start of December and battered Palace a couple weeks back.

They’re the form side outside the top four. Yes we should be beating them but comparing results from two years ago is dumb.

A still imagine with zero context.

Omits the fact this is 10 minutes in, comes from a turnover high up the pitch, Jones getting fouled meaning he’s behind the play and this melee coming after a reasonably serviceable chance for Ekitike albeit one he probably should have squared to Wirtz for an even easier chance.

So one of our brighter moments reduced to a single image to make a point. I get that we weren’t great and haven’t been for a while but we can be better than this.

A lot of people must still be on the Chrimbo sherry judging by the MOTM poll. Gravenberch was comfortably our best player today, one of the few who actually looked like they knew what they were doing. Frimpong and Bradley got my other 2 votes. Konate had a decent game also.
Wirtz and Szoboslai stunk the place out. MacAllister is no longer a footballer.
Not arsed about Kavanagh’s performance. He’s a fucking cheat who cost us a title a few years back. He wont change.
We are watching some of the worst football from a Liverpool team in decades. It’s gone on for nearly a year now with no sign of improvement. Sat there for the best part of 100 minutes today with fucking zero excitement or entertainment. At no time did we look like scoring a goal. Safety first, no jeopardy, sideways and backwards shite. Slotball.

He started pulling him back outside the box.

ok, I have to admit, I had a laugh at this headline:

Heavy metal? It’s not even aluminium foil football
