Post match: Liverpool v Leicester (EPL 10/2/22 7.45pm)

This isn’t really a ref or bar problem though. It’s the accepted enforcement of the rules. 99% of the time if a player gets the shot away, no foul is called no matter how much contact there is.

There are of course exceptions but that is the consistent call I see across pretty much all games I’ve watched. It does drive me absolutely crazy but it’s a non sensical way to apply the rules. Clearly if Mo had passed the ball or taken a touch to round schmeichel it would have been a stone cold penalty. But since he shot … nada.

I wondered why my wife said she wouldn’t mind if he sat between us on the sofa. I’m sort of conflicted, yes it would shut her up while the game is on, but then he wouldn’t be in goal. Life isn’t fair.

My wife has complained less about the football being on since we signed him. Swings and roundabouts

So, as long as the opposing player has got his shot away, the defender is allowed to cut him in two and no action will be taken. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

True…it was Peter Walton (think thats his name)on BTsport last night…a foul is a foul and a pen it should be…but no…cause it was Mo in the thick of it…

If that was Sterling, guaranteed it would be a penalty.

True…he only has to see a white line and he falls over…and if anyone brushes past him in the box…that’s a definite pen…

Taking MO out the way it happened…
Stopped him from getting to a rebound if it came back at him

If it was a penalty , it would mostly have been a redcard as well.

Fine with it either way , as long as the rules are being implemented correctly.
