Post match: Liverpool v Man City (EPL 11/10/26 4.30pm)

Good:

  1. The team played with intensity in the first 60 minutes. Man city didn’t have a single sniff at goal at all.
  2. Koumas is a willing runner and is willing to hassle their front line. Wished that Isak had that bit of determination and work rate.
  3. Our shape was largely good until that red card.
  4. Munoz was lively and was the main danger man.

Bad:

  1. Gravenberch. Did well skipping a few man city players in the first half but got largely negated for the rest of the first half with the opposition closing in on macca rather than Gravenberch. Iraola capitalised on this in the second half by pushing Gravenberch higher. However, Gravenberch’s penchant for consistently running into cul-de-sacs and not releasing the ball earlier came to bit our collective arse when one of his runs got predictably stopped with him running into a blue wall and City countered. Gravenberch then being so out of position made a clumsy challenge that got him a second yellow card. That precipitated our collapse. If he cannot get Slotball out of his system, I’m afraid he has no place in the starting lineup.
  2. Wirtz. The game passed him by in the first half but got better in the second half by being closer to the forwards. Still, he needs to do more and do it fast.
  3. Barcola. Needs to get used to the speed of the game in England. Looks very raw.
  4. Iraola. Should be yelling at his team to release the ball faster and play city on the transition. And we should be pressing on the RHS as well instead of retreating so deep.

Good idea. At least, we have a chance of getting fair treatment from the refs in there. As others have said, this league here stinks to high heaven.

My thought exactly

My problem with the red isn’t that we were at the end of it, but that if the roles were reversed, Kavanagh would haven’t given it.

The reaction after the red though was unacceptable. The way we dealt with Doku was embarrassing. All 3 goals from his side because we were scared shitless of him and allowed too much room.

Extremely disappointed by the result and parts of the performance. Considering the circumstances, for me this will go down as one of the worst games in my 35+ years as a Liverpool fan.

Grav’s!

Both commentators say they can’t even see any contact for the 1st yellow for Grav, only one that could was Kavanagh

Also ban always from going to games.

I can.
A team that has been proven to cheat seems to be getting decisions in its favour

Commentator why can’t you word it better, with regards of your team being accused of cheating.

Why doesn’t Haaland mention the hard work and concentration for their Motm, Kavanagh

We were the better team until Gravenberch got sent off. That was despite missing Szobo, Gakpo, and Isak.

Only fitting that Manchester City play with an extra man. They’ve basically been doing that for over a decade now.

We didn’t play much football at all and lacked quality but we were solid and in the game before the red.

Decent effort until that point, could be argued

The refs , and especially this one, need to be investigated thoroughly. I’m sure that a lot would come out if it happened.

I thought Liverpool were doing very well for the first 60 minutes, until Gravenberch got Red carded. The team had no idea to react. We would have least had a draw out of this game.

This referee has alot to answer for, ruining the game overall. What an incompetent twat!

Hopefully, Chris Kavanagh is stupid enough to click on phishing link in his cell phone and email.

Your assessment of Gravenberch’s performance today is astonishing.

If he was as bad as you seem to think he was, why did we collapse as soon as he was sent off? I’m sorry, but your opinion about his contribution in this match is way off.

He was our best player until the sending off.

I thought we looked solid defensively until the red card. I think Endo might have been the smarter substitute there, but I suspect that the players knew the ref was throwing the game by that point. It doesn’t matter. The match will be nulled by the end of the season.

He was still our best player afterwards as well

I know I criticise the ref sometimes but even before the game giving that important game to that idiot to ref was totally wrong everything hinged on the sending off he was abject today we were dominating up that point even withstanding our usual and crucial injuries to our best players it is not fair the club should complain to pgmol.

Let me say it again, this entire PL season is f4vcked…No amount of PR can rescue it.
As for me, I’m done…

Come out of Anfield a little bit ago.

The crowd were electric and the players responded. We were playing without three top and experienced goalscorers and assist makers.

And we were more than in the fight.

And then the ref decisively intervened for them. There were fouls in our players in similar positions that the ref didn’t even call.

But he gave Grav the second yellow
