Post Match: Liverpool v Man City (EPL 16/10/22 16.30pm)

Gary Neville on his podcast – “Fabinho is one of the best at falling over and winning fouls”

As a team, we’re one of, if not THE MOST, fair in the world. Of course, we’re not Mahatma Gandhi, and we’ll engage in these things from time to time, but over a full season, we play in the fair spirit.

Gary Neville is hugely influential in the media, and no doubt the refs will listen to him. So when he introduces stupid things like above, cue Fab not the benefit of doubt of getting any decision ever again.

I’ve long admired Fabinho’s ability to fall over when he is wrestled to the ground by opponents. Other, less skillful players stand their ground while their shirts are being pulled and they are being kicked in the shins. Fabinho brilliantly allows himself to be knocked over when assaulted. It’s time he got his due recognition.

Gary Neville being a prick as usual.
He should stick to making money out of the Qatar Cup like his bestie David Beckham.
Pair of snide cunts showing their true colours.

I don’t get it. Millie proved me wrong today. Nunez not so much

Not moaning at all

Thing is everyone is getting at Nunez but Salah missed a sitter as well, in fact he should have done better with another as well.

So you can’t really say in one breath that Salah was superb and Nunez was shit. Jota’s header that he also planted wide was bloody simple and yet let’s focus on Nunez who had less than 20 mins to make an impact.

If he was the one guilty of missing easy chances then fair enough, he wasn’t and Salah should have squared that first 1 on 1 to Jota.

Salah missed one that went wide, but he also had one saved.

I don’t think its fair to say the 3 Nunez chances were all through selfishness though. I think it was the last he just delayed the pass too long and therefore City were able to block off the pass to Fabio which was the best option if Nunez had passed it earlier.

I really must put in a word about Mo and why he was MOTM. I have never seen him put in a shift like that. Defensively he was colossal, that central role really does seem to suit him (he made up for firmino’s disappearing act). It wasn’t just looking useful it was useful. His efforts when attacking are well known yet even there he seemed to revel and do more than usual.
Personally surprised as we have seen Salah central before in other circumstances and he’s not been that great central figure we saw ‘today’.

Probably learned from Mane. :yum:

Jota and Diaz aren’t bad either however Mané was the best!

He also was able to resurrect his favourite moan about the attack on the team coach that time.

Cold light of day…

Back to being Liverpool, and that was always going to happen. Now we need consistency.

Before the match there were people expecting us to be hammered, but I was genuinely confident that we would turn in a performance. The season isn’t great so far, and Arsenal are the major benefactors from yesterday.
But we can rise up the table, and we will.

Injuries are a major concern. Calls for sacking medical staff makes no sense, but we have a few issues with Jota and Diaz out.

Nunez takes a lot of stick, and a large portion undeserved. He occupied City yesterday and yes he should look up, but others were poor in front of goal as well. Salah, Jota and Trent all had great chances.

Milner played well, but Pep the master tactician failed to expose the oldest player on the pitch with pace. I was among the Millie doubters, and freely admit he played well.

I know the VAR Defender probably has me on ignore (he doesn’t bother answering questions that make him seem incorrect)…but surely the purpose of VAR is to assist in what is unseen? Silva on Mo is a red card offence, an attempt at serious injury? Anyone who played football knows this and Salahs reaction is telling. He doesn’t usually chase after the ref/other player but having been victim to Ramos he knows this was dangerous.
So does Klopp.

Taylor is a cunt, and @jaffod has called this consistently. Few copping on to it after yesterday, but he is a disgrace. A biased cheating disgrace.

The City fans should be banned from Anfield. Nothing else will suffice.

Saw this article on the BBC and it’s an astonishing case of whataboutery for mainstream media.

Apparently it’s all Klopp’s fault for calling out financial irregularity and sportswashing.

City are privately stressing they do not condone the abuse in any way.

A very quick check on Blue Loon will confirm that is a load of bullshit and the shite spewed by their fans is rampant. Time for the FA to grow some balls and kick the cunts out of the league

Mike Dean is the root cause of all issues with the poor standards of officiating in the Premiership, a weak coward of a man with no leadership.

Saw this on Twitter, shows Salah’s run for the goal starting before Alisson had even caught the ball.
