Very pleasing win. In the grand scheme of things, it means fuck all, as were are already beaten for the title, but it’s always pleasing to beat the oil cheaters. :+1:

In many ways, this reminds me of when we used to beat man utd in their pomp under Houillier. We clearly were never as good and consistent as them, but often managed to raise our game for them. This is the same: looking at the stats, they should have won (64% possession for them, thrice as many shots on target), but our lads wanted it more.

At least, it’s a clean sheet, and that will be useful going into the next games. The most difficult part starts now, especially as we are depleted as fuck right now in terms of injuries: how to maintain our usually high level throughout the rest of the season? That’s what great teams do. Let’s see how our lads can cope with that.

For our top four hopes, it’s certainly a good result, as not many of our contradictors will be able to beat the oil cheaters.

Not sure it was them… for they were busy throwing coins at Pep

Surprised to see Guardiola complain about money being thrown at him, when it’s been the basis for his managerial career.

David Moyes said the video assistant referee “needs to go to Specsavers” after being angered by the officials during West Ham’s 1-1 draw at Southampton.

The stats don’t tell the whole story though. Jota with two heading chances that were better than many of $hitty’s chances (especially the second when Mo fired it in).

Then the poor decision making at times with the final ball could have turned this into something more comfortable at the end.

We were excellent in letting them have hte ball, then engage with them as they tried to work the ball out wide (we were solid int he middle - no way for them to get through).

Under Rafa we lost every league game to them until the nearly of the 08-09 season where we did the double over them. In both of those games we didnt raise our game, but played up to what our new standards were and deservedly beat them in both games. That was the same as today…a performance deserving of the win (fuck those stats, their best chance was the Hlaland header at the end of the first half and we had 5 chances better than that even ignoring our goal).

Fair enough, I should have talked about the Houillier era without mentioning Rafa.
