Post match: Liverpool v Man City (EPL 8/2/26 4.30pm)

 You said we had no money and had lost revenue.
Based on what report?

Youve not answered to your own assertion yet, coco.

We all have opinions. But they still have to be tethered to facts

Back three under Alonso? Quansah, Leoni, Jacquet? Just speculating.

Van Gaal was of higher status as a coach/manager than Slot currently when he was heading Bayern Munich back in 2010-2011 (like Slot he also won the league in his debut season 2009/2010, and on top of that his team also made CL final that season). Bayern still sacked him in March to save their season.

Liverpool must do what needs to be done

We will have to buy him back if we goes for back 3 under a hypothetical Alonso management. In such case we will need more CB and on top of that our homegrown group is dangerously running low.

Except that Klopp had already rebuilt the midfield for them before he left. In fact, at the beginning of the last season, we only need another CB and a CDM. Here I have to give Slot credit for turning Gravenberch from an above average No.8 into a world-class CDM.

At the end of the last season, we needed a CB, 2 FBs on both wings, another striker (Ekitike), a CDM/CM with good passing range (think Adam Wharton). In fact we did not necessarily need Florian Wirtz, not more than another fast-pace winger. We could have bought all of them with just the money we spent on Wirtz and Isak.

Yeah we shouldnt be letting Curtis go. If Arne is ostracising Curtis then sack him this instant.

I’ll be there with you, through thick and thin and stupid enough to think we’ll win every one of them.

As Forest says stupid is as stupid does.

Totally agree with this aspect of poor man management from Arne, you have to show belief in your players as you never know when you’ll need them.

Gravenberch is excellent at carrying the ball. Every other facet of his game is lacking.

Agree,we have decent playera benched all season, not given minutes, for what ever is in Slots head.
Maybe I m getting old,but the idea used to be,if it ain’t working try something, something will work.
Using his bench can do no harm, and often makes a difference.

We got back into the game then went into what, someone in pre match called ‘turtle mode’ in other words we retreated back in to our low block shell and stopped doing what got us back in the game.

He was very good at defensive duties last season as a CDM.

At No.8 position he is just another Curtis Jones, unfortunately.

Not good enough eh.

They can still come on and do a better job than tired players, they aren’t as bad as you make out.

However, atm you are so blinkered in your support of Slot that you are lambasting players that have always come on and given their all, sometimes effort is a key to improving performances, especially when there is a modicum of talent in the mix.

This was a really confusing game.
It was everything that Slot doesn’t want from a game - fast and furious - and it really didnt need to be.
No idea why we played like we needed 3 points for the title.
The game had to be won by the starting 11 as the bench was so poor.
The one sub that should’ve happened was Robbo for Kerkez who was fucked by 70 mins.
I’m also sick of seeing Cheisa come on the minute we go a goal down, although I don’t think he’s a good as everyone says he is, id prefer the 17 year old to come on as he has pace and is tricky.
I thought apart from 30 mins in the 2nd half City were better over the match - more composed when it mattered.
Our record against the top half of the table is really poor bar Arsenal oddly

4/6 points from Arsenal
0/3 Chelsea
0/6 City
0/3 United
0/3 Brentford
3/3 Villa

Thought VVD and Sozbo were excellent. Thought Grav and Mac were poor again. No idea why Ali brings the lad down for the pen - he was going nowhere. Just sums up our season - constant brain farts.

Its unacceptable. We are on the same points as Brentford ffs. Im not someone who thinks that because Slot won the league last year he gets a pass this year. This club demands CL football and at the moment we just dont look like being consistent enough to get it.

The initial foul was Szob on Haaland, however, advantage was initially played, but then Haaland committed a foul on Szob, denying him from potetially stopping the ball going in the net, which Pawson was made aware of by VAR.

So then it all reverted back to Szobs 1st foul and a DOGSO and the result a freekick to city and Szob sent off.

Actually the correct decision as per the laws of the game.
