I’ve watched it again on repeat from the time the ball is played, to the pull, to the moment Salah hits the floor with the trajectory of the ball into account. In that time, the defender makes up all of 3 or 4m and is running like he has lead in his boots.
Salah is definitely through. I did think the defender was on his bike quicker than that but he was slow to react and didn’t recover in the slightest. You all are right about that one.

Can you imagine that happening down the other end, VAR having this still available, and the ‘referee’ not being told to go to the monitor?
Call me paranoid but I think that would happen.

As the live it was difficult to see even so instinct is to say penalty.
Then the replays confirmed it nasty short yanking mobsters. I have no idea why it wasn’t given.

Brooks on VAR? TBH, it’s not just us. Premier League refereeing just saps the enjoyment from the game.
I only watch our games now out of loyalty. I think the last EPL game i watched that wasn’t us had Everton denied a perfectly acceptable goal through dodgy reffing, so it’s not as if I have rose tinted specs.

No you are incorrect, once we scored we stopped our press, which had been successful and reverted to a mainly low block and gave back the ascendency in the game!

the correct call was to wave play on… the ref did that.
Haaland was in a goal scoring position.
THEN…Haaland fouls Szobo…
so from Haalands position of advantage…even within the 3 seconds or phase or whatever is correct nowadays, its haaland that wasted the advantage, but there was still an advantage…
lets just play devils advocate here…advantage is played and instead of fouling Szobo, Haaland gets to the ball and fluffs the shot and knocks it wide…that doesnt get called back…
Haaland had the advantage and choose to foul Szozbo.
(the only thing that really changes though is we get the freekick, not city…szozbo still gets the red…so im really just argueing semantics, but VAR is the fucking king of semantics TBH)
