Post match: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 17/12/23 4.30pm)

I don’t think he is mate. Don’t think it gets the best out of a lot of our players and lets be honest it’s Lijnders formation and not Klopp’s.

That fucker ought to be sacked. The Inverted full-back was needed last season when the midfield didn’t have legs. That sacrificed width for stability.

But this time, the midfield have legs and now, the Right Hand Side has zero width…Fucking Inverted nonsense…

There was something weirdly off as well. The team tends to shoot at ridiculous angles where a pull- back, pass or a cross would be a better choice…

Yet everyone, not saying you moans about Mac, when mostly he is a very progressive passer

I mean, could’ve at least got his age right…

One thing I’ve noticed is that our wingers (Salah, Diaz, etc.) will not take on a defender 1v1. They lack the confidence to do so. I see wingers from other sides (all places on table) licking their chops and relishing those 1v1 opportunities. Once you beat your man, everything opens up. We are not doing that at all right now and it makes everything more difficult offensively.

:joy::joy::joy:

He should have fucked off after writing a book of self praise.

He’s nearly worse than Jason Tindell for attention seeking.

I couldn’t name another assistant manager in world football bar them two……

I recognize that a Klopp team is not going to set up as conservative as Dyche or Mourinho with 11 in the box, and it is certainly different to “attack in numbers” when countering versus exclusively play long balls and/or rely on set pieces. The greater point I was trying to make is that when you are undermanned or generally shit compared to your opponents, I think it is understandable if needs must and you need to take a less expansive approach.

They do but nearly always on the inside into traffic

I wonder if that is a deliberate tactical thing…

This game alone, I can understand the frustration because we definitely didn’t put the shift we were supposed to. You had a donkey like Amrabat in midfield against you and still ours looked worse.

But I wouldn’t go on saying we need to get rid of players we just got in yet. From overall context, we should no way be the mix for the title this season and are definitely overarchieving. And this is a period we usually struggle and have stronger second half season. Let’s hope the same happens.

Utterly disappointed that this was one game where we shouldn’t have dropped points given how shit they are, but that’s how it has been these games between United and us for years. Totally unpredictable results no matter how bad one team might be. I’ll be happy if we somehow remain in the mix for the title by end of Jan. Hope that starts by getting the much needed 3 points against Arsenal.

The loudest I shouted was when Alisson made a save!
I’ve almost given up on shouting ‘Fucking hell Salah!’

So anything positive to say?

I won’t pick the bones out of your post. Will leave it for you to reflect. Very contradictory. Just a bad day at the office.

I really don’t want to get your back up but what a bizarre post.
So we are second at Xmas and you are calling for someone to be sacked.
The right had no width…up until Szobo went off pretty much everything went down the right. Infact, after he went off everything good went down the right.

I agree that this evening we tried shooting from all kind of angles. We basically ran out of ideas. :+1:t2:

I see your point but don’t completely agree with it. When you say take a defender on 1v1 I assume you mean to go past them….
Diaz went past many a defender but ended up over running it. Salah didn’t really beat his man but still got numerous shots off.
Taking on and beating the fullback is a bit dated now. Most wide players cut in, allowing for an overlap.

Don’t be ridiculous. The buck stops with Klopp, if he wasn’t satisfied with the formation, he wouldn’t employ it.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the shit performances, no need to come up with a scapegoat.

I wonder what his stats were for the first 50 mins compared to the last 45? If he can perform from the beginning like he ended the match then great.
I know some people love stats and I acknowledge they are important, but the stats how we had 34 shots or something yesterday but apart from TAA’s that skimmed the post, we didn’t look like scoring.

Just heard on talksport… Liverpool 0 ten man Manchester united 0.

They had 10 men for about 70 seconds.
