Post match: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 19/4/22 8pm)

The 7th minute tribute by the crowd at anfield, says everything about my beloved team and their local supporters. What class!!!

I was of similar thinking in that I should only vote for Thiago but felt Robbo and Mo deserved my additional votes following recent criticism.
I also feel Mane deserves a special mention, he has been played in a different role, obviously more central and asked to drop into the hole Bobby would fill and I feel he has done this very well. Long may this continue.

The thing about that Mane pass for Salah was that it came at the end of a fantastic sequence of passes where we were just peppering the ball around the field - I was already impressed, and then THAT.

I am just watching the highlights, I would like to know how many passes were completed in the whole of that passage of play.

We were fucking brilliant tonight. Best team we’ve had in 40 years.

The second goal? Check the Mo thread.

Excellent performance without massively pushing ourselves against a truly dreadful team.

First 20 they looked absolute garbage, let them have a 15 minute spell in which we dropped to their level a bit but then stepped up with the 3rd and played the game out with a 4th. Thiago was majestic absolutely a joy to watch.

Apparently a GD of 9 has never been matched before, so as bad as we were we never reached that level and they spent far more to get there.

The Sancho cross come shot effectively summed them up. Utter garbage and thankful for the stress free night Man Utd.

And I haven’t a clue why they brought sideshow Bob on at the end, he even looked like him. Penandes foul is as bad as his teeth.

Anyhow Maguire

We will!

Thiago orchestrated Liverpool’s latest humiliation of the team from Old Trafford…

Alisson had set that tone as early as the third minute when executing a Cruyff turn on Bruno Fernandes inside his own penalty area. Thiago needed no encouragement to pick up the baton. The former Bayern Munich midfielder has timed the best run of form of his Liverpool career to perfection.

We won then!
never in doubt,to steal a line from@silly old git.
A few minutes aside we were fantastic.MOTM has to be Thiago, with Robbo not far adrift.
Good to see Mo back among the goals.Just at the right time.

Judging by the look on his face tonight,it looks like old whiskey nose got a perch shaped object stuck up his arse.

I had such a smile on my face when his grumpy face pop up. Sir Alex… Left nothing behind. Buy Van Persie, & take your last bit of glory.

Said in the pre match that if I left the ground tonight not having witnessed the total and utter destruction of Manchester United then I’d feel disappointed. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. All I heard on the radio on the way home was how terrible they were (and they are wretched) but we were awesome.

It was fucking bouncing tonight. Felt like all four corners of the ground were really up for it and we showed our class with the Ronaldo applause and impromptu YNWA. Epic entertainment on and off the pitch. What a time to be a Red.

Really made me proud to hear you guys out there with the applause and impromptu YNWA for Ronaldo.
Cheers all round…

Nah. Even under the worat of hodgson and having gash players with hicks and gillette as owners , the players never downed tools like what this united team is doing.

That was a crap time to be a pool fan but they didnt down tools.

Ralph does have a clue. He just doesnt have the tools. I remember that there was a deal for a DM agreed and the united board rejected it

Trying to imagine time traveling back to 2002 and telling a 10 year old me that we would have a season where we beat Man Utd 9-0 over two games.

I love that Mane was struggling out wide so Klopp/Klopp’s staff just decide “oh well let’s just turn him into a world class centre forward instead then”.

Just finished watching a recording.

How good are we? That first half was incredible, and Man Utd were chasing shadows. The only frustration was it easily could have been four or five. But the gulf in class was enormous.

Second half they changed shape and we took our foot off the pedal. Understandable. They played for pride, but as they were building up a bit of steam we crushed their hopes by trying again, and adding two more goals!

Thiago was unbelievably good.
Mane was brilliant too. That pass, oooh la la. And his hunger, and humility. Love it.
Mo back in the goals. Will do him the world of good.
Diaz was excellent again too. Only been here five minutes but is rapidly becoming a fan favorite.

I could keep going.

Anyway, top by two points with a nine goal advantage on goal difference too. Man City to play Brighton. In all likelihood we know how that will end, but the margins are so fine now, that a draw will see us stay top.

Come on Brighton. Potter… you are a wizard don’t forget! Trossard can play. Lallana, if fit, can Cruyff turn one into the back of the net too.
