Mate you can cover when opposition pulls your shorts down when they are attacking as it’s expected and others can cover for it, but today Trent was running with his shorts down all the time and wants everyone to cover his arse. The worst part is when we are about to start an attack and everyone is joining in hw loses the ball in his own half trying a 10 feet nothing pass. I agree he is one of the best crosser, dead ball specialist and passer – doesn’t justify the horrendous performance. And his attitude was like he doesn’t give a toss.

In parts only. Both of them have performed better. Gravenberch, in particular, seems to have slowed down substantially recently.
He’s been ever-present in the midfield and it’s starting to look like his minutes are catching up with him now.

Yet it was mentioned on my commentary and obvious in the game that Trent had a lot of space to move into out wide in the 1st half, so why Trent would move inside is beyond me as he would be making it easy for Fernandez tocover him.
Just cos someone says it, doesn’t mean it is an instruction if so then Slot misread the game and I wouldn’t imagine that.
Very true, and I think it was commented early on in the match thread that we were playing very narrowly, which was playing into United’s hands. But if we persisted that way, perhaps it might just be the case, and that he has sadly surpassed your imagination in the bad way.

If Bradley had started that game we would have probably won. We need a right back not a fucking show pony. The only thing that bothers me about him going to Madrid is the fact we won’t get a penny for him. I don’t usually freak out over individual performances but that today was of a totally different order.

Thought it was interesting he started Konate who only returned to training late this week. He looked gassed well before the end and the less said about his defending for their second the better.
And yet Quansah sat on the bench for the full 90. In fact, aside from when he’s really had no other option Slot has barely played him since that first half subbing on the opening day.
Does Slot just not trust him?

Yes because that’s what you feel.
Yet one of the things that’s used to bash him now is that he’s said he wants to be the best right-back in the world. You’d reckon he knows that right-backs have to defender on the flank and not in the middle, so if he wanted to show how great a right-back he is, he wouldn’t drift centrally.

That’s just you and others (listening to 606) casting aspersions. Anyone who’s played even low level sport knows there’s many reasons for poor performances. None of us know. He looked absolutely gutted at the end

As I observed further up the thread, his body language is always the same, it’s just that when we lose and people are angry, it’s easy to call him complacent and arrogant.
Odd that it’s never used against van Dijk though.
Think it’s more trying to protect a young cb. Especially in an emotionally charged match as tonight and also with Quansah’s last performance vs Utd in mind. He had no problem using Jarrell vs City at Anfield.
