Jones was worse.

This is such bullshit. He’s literally like that all the time. Maybe it’s just what his general demeanour is like and people are just reading into it whatever they want to read into it?

Fullback definitely the area in this team that needs to be refreshed next. Robbo looks a shadow of his former self, can’t seem to find much consistency this season.

Can’t say much more than has already been said about Trent, a terrible performance and we’d have won that game if he was hooked when he should have been. Served no purpose in that game other than to convince them they had a chance of getting something. Wonder if the increased noise in the past week or so has finally gotten to him somewhat as for the most part this season he has played well and seemed unaffected by it all.

I did post during the game the first 45’s were similar.

For a moment I was worried as it could have been a red had he elbowed him.

2-1 up and he tries a hollywood ball that went to a United shirt? Slot is all about control, bro. TAA was doing that lazy shit all day long instead of taking on the wingback by providing the overlap or underlap.

Must win at Forest now. Szobo will be back hopefully. Missed his energy and industry today.

I said somewhere else, probably my fault. After I started pointing out he wasn’t as bad as people are making out, somehow he decided to live up to their words…

I find it hard to believe that all season Trent has been playing a more disciplined role, but at 2-1 and with Utd looking dangerous on the counter and a half fit Konate covering, Slot gives him the nod to maraud into midfield.

I think the week’s narrative, whether he has had anything to do with that or not, has got into his head and he wanted to influence the game.

Slot looked furious, and Trent gets hooked. It’s not a tactical sub or a fitness thing. He got hooked.

I think @Sportbilly1966 has answered your question mate…

Yes but he’s been the same since years. Madrid thing has started recently. He every now and then gives this half baked performance.

I do agree… he deserves the criticism today but it’s not new with him I feel and not sure how much is owing to the Madrid thing.

This has been the main criticism of him for literally his entire career.

Jürgen has spoken many times how it was explicit tactical instruction from the coaching team to do that. I can’t speak to how Arne sets up the team because he hasn’t commented on it, but it’s literally been the case that that’s how the right side functions with Alexander-Arnold and the centrebacks. It’s nothing new. Konaté, Quansah, Matip, Gomez, whoever. That’s always been how we play.

Weird statistic.

Of the 16 matches played amongst the so-called Big Six thus far, the home side has only won three matches, us winning two of those.

He is part of the leadership group and needs to show that on the pitch and know when to hold position or are you saying he just has to be remote controlled from the sideline

Cannot get over the fact that we were this close to a slab head winner…Fuckin hell

And what would “influencing the game” do? What even is the narrative here that he would want to do something about?

I think fans are overreacting based on their preconceived biases from the noise about his potential move, rather than focusing on the actual facts.

Did he suddenly start moving into midfield, or was he doing that the entire game?

He looks like he’s given up on his chances to make it and is waiting for the inevitable end of his Liverpool career.

The yellow he got, which earned him a suspension was just typical of how poorly he’s been doing lately.

You’re probably correct in saying that it’s tactical. But that doesn’t excuse the Martinez goal where Trent just basically stands still.

The whole team needed to show some nous when we went ahead. BUt it was lacking, summed up by Andy in the 97th minute holding Amad for a good 10 seconds.

Come on we all watched him so many times. He didn’t attempt one cross field ball. All the time trying to make a pass to Salah standing and kicking trying to intercept two defenders. Fucker didn’t even bother to pass to Macca or Graven and run to their half get the ball back and pass or cross. Always kicking the ball from our half and losing possession. Didn’t stop one cross when defending. Didn’t attempt one crossfield ball to Gapko or Diaz - he would do that half a dozen times normally.

I think the vitriol is due to the Madrid thing. Performances like these aren’t new at all, as you said. People are just angry because they think he’s off and his mind is elsewhere. Forget about all the evidence from the rest of the season so far, he played poorly in this game so it’s because he wants away.

Pathetic “support”.
