Post match: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 5/1/25 4.30pm)

I don’t agree on the Vitriol thing being down to the Madrid offer, he would have been slated for that performance with or without the Madrid interest.

The Nunez one what really wound me up few minutes to go he makes a decent run. He gets to edge of box has no idea what to do ball gets caught under his feet and they nearly brake on us.

What’s more damning is that Bradley managed to win 3 out of 3 challenges, and managed to even get into the box within 5 minutes of getting on.

If the team collectively defended half as hard as I’m defending against overreactions, we’d have sailed to a nice easy win.

All other defenders were brilliant its all Trents fault.

He would have been for sure, but to this extent?

So why was he hooked if he is doing what the manager wanted him to do

It’s notable to me that both their goals came from giving the ball away in our own third. In both occasions we were under pressure, not in a great position to play our way out but opted against just clearing our lines and turned the ball over. Trent on the first and Ibou on the second. People are commenting on him having to defend in the RB spot for that goal, but that is the reason why…he came over to deal with a high ball, tried to pick out a liverpool player with his header but gave it back to United and from there he was having to play RB with Trent filling in for him inside.

Part of this is obviously our game plan, but Im sure Slot will be on at that for making better decisions when we’re not set up to play the ball properly.

Do managers never makes changes .

Touché!

I don’t know what it is but he’s quite completely lost mentally. It feels as though the kind of thing someone like Jürgen would be able to help fix, so it’s a real test™ for Arne.

Klopp couldn’t fix it for 2 years.

Yes he was poor but scored, standing up for Trent after that performance is unbelievable and believing he played as the manager wanted is laughable

Playing shit passing is not on the manager. You make those decisions in the moment and they continued to make bad ones.

And you think I’m slagging off Trent but there were about 5 of them doing it. If Maca and VVD are saying calm down then it’s evidently not Slot’s instructions. They’ve lost that calmness they had early season and it needs to be reasserted as that games won at 2-1 if you play with more than half a brain.

Jürgen got him out of a rather rough first season into 31 goals+assists last season.

He very much seems to be one of those players who’s a massive confidence player.

If you’re accounting recency bias then sure.

In reality it’s on par with 80% of our first halves this season…going alllllllll the way back to Ipswich.

Forest away is a must win now. In a way I am glad a cup game is coming inbetween. Had we faced Forest next I am sure we will drop points.

Why didn’t he win any duels or tackles, because he wasn’t in position to do so!

If in the worst case scenario we are still 3 points ahead with a game in hand, then it clearly isnt a “must win”

Trent should be ashamed of himself after that performance, luckily for us Bradley is fit again and should push Trent back to our bench.
