Post-Match: Liverpool v Midtjylland (UCL 27/10/20 8pm)

This is why I watch the games with the sound off.

Well, in some ways, the commentary was correct…their keeper was nowhere near the ball when Diogo slotted the ball in from 2 of the best passes in the match. :joy:

Yeah but we won 2-0 and he didn’t have a shot go save, ridiculous. Hahaha.

I was at work, but — feeling that we might win comfortably — decided to not look at the score and watch the full game at home. That went out the window when I went to set up the video players for the first and second half (ensuring no spoilers) but then saw 0-0 on the second half one, so I figured I would skip the first half (and it sounds like that might have been a wise choice). Great move for the first goal, we were sloppy throughout but given the changes somewhat to be expected. Thought Paulinho might have got a red when hauling down Salah but yellow and a pen for 2-0 will do. Deserved winners even if not a spectacular performance.

I am sure the Hammers will be the very soul of delicate and precise play…

MOTM: whoever invented the Pot Noodle. Fed up with the envious glances cast this way by @Alright_Now whenever I have a highfalutin’ French meal, I thought I’d raise a glass to the creator of the greatest snack known to man.

Admittedly, it was a glass of 1985 Chateau Lynch Bages, but so what?

That would be Momofuku Ando, founder of the Nissin food company. BTW, ‘fuku’ isn’t pronounced in the way you might think it is. Which puts me in mind of a local amateur club, Fukui United. I saw the team bus yesterday and noticed that in the logo on the side of the bus the ‘i’ in Fukui had been replaced by the Chinese character 井 leaving Fuku United as the only roman letters.
Which pleased me greatly.

The match? Woke up at 5:45. Saw the half time score and decided in favour of more sleep. Wise choice, so it seems.

I replace the commentators with heavy metal!

Sadly Big Div just goes about his business. Seemingly uninterested in the game. We really struggle without our front 3 on the park.

yes, disappointed with the game, but happy that we won. don’t want to be critical of our lads, because it’s not like they play together every week. I am more bothered about the injuries we have in the squad. We don’t do dirty tackles, like nearly every team does against us week in, week out. Klopp’s image is kinda reflected in the team about being fair and other teams are taking advantage by rough housing our lads.

Just don’t get the point of starting origi. This has to be his worst ever performance.
Spent most of the time on the floor, his touch was awful and his passing worse.
He needed to go in the summer.

All in all everyone was off their game but got the job done.

It wouldn’t be a Lfc game without an injury to someone.

It was great indeed, but then again, the whole move for the goal was sumptuous. A befitting goal for no. 10’000, that’s for sure!

It was exactly the sort of game I expected. Disjointed and hard to watch at times but at this stage of the season it’s all about results. Just get the win and move on to the next game.

What impressed me about the Danes was their energy. I expected them to fade because they put a lot into that performance but they were still pressing us high up right to the end. Trent was right on it and it’s such a relief to have Alisson back. Apart from that nothing to get very excited about. We look very light in midfield with the current formation and it means we’re not controlling games as much. Maybe with Thiago back it will look different. Minamino dreadful. Origi worse.

Fabinho’s injury is a case of shit happens. We knew we were taking a risk with the CB position this season and we haven’t got away with it. I’ve got visions of Gini partnering Henderson there in a few weeks if this keeps up. Just got to hope we can get through it somehow. This team thrives on adversity and maybe this sort of challenge is what’s needed to get us really fired up.

It seems we are losing the fear factor. All opponents feel they have a chance now yet still we keep winning, but for how long. West Ham will be a real test.
Good to see Trent looking as if he is on his way back to his best and Jota looking sharp. Rhys Williams also deserves a pat on the back. It will be interesting to watch his progress. Shaqu also looks to be more like a Liverpool player. Minamino runs about a lot but achieves very little. Personally I think he is better in MF but we are quite well stacked there Divock was awful again and Bobby is still well below par.
Hoping Fab is not to bad but he has to be a doubt for the week end .
Jurgen really has a job on his hands getting results for the next few weeks.
