Again, not a good game of football but the result is all that matters at this stage. 5 points clear of Ajax makes us already clear favourites to progress from the group.
Trent was the best player on the pitch, some moments of real quality from him. The rest were mostly a mixed bag. Jota did some good stuff but a fair bit didn’t come off for him. Gomez likewise. Happy with Rhys Williams again. No complaints about Robbo. Alisson was absolutely huge yet again, fantastic in both 1v1s and superb in the air just as he was against Ajax, a few dodgy kicks but otherwise immaculate.
Origi and Minamino were diabolical. Wasn’t too surprised with Divock but really disappointed in Taki, it was a good chance for him to show he deserves a few more minutes. Not on that showing. Shaqiri was a different story, a handful of moments in that game showed his quality. Technically the guy is on a different level to most players. The pass to Trent was timed perfectly.
Midgetland were shit. A couple of decent players but the rest weren’t much to write home about. For the 3rd game in 4 a team just wanted to kick the fuck out of us. Shithouses.
3 really tough games coming up before the international break, if we get a 2 or 3 good results here it sets us up so well for the season. I’m optimistic that Fab won’t be out for too long.

Don’t know the actual rules for a red but for me but that challenge on Mo looked similar to the Digne challenge but obviously nowhere near the recklessness or danger to the opponent. But if a player is clean through and the player directly behind trips him, it’s dangerous. You should let him go.

I would play Williams again. Wijnaldum hates playing CB and we need Henderson in midfield. IF Thiago is fit I would play him together with Henderson and Wijnaldum, that is one of the best midfields in the world.

Yeah the comentator made me chuckle. We were one nil up and he says “the keeper hasn’t had a shot to save” then realised what a stupid comment he’d made and said "of course apart from the goal.
