Post match: Liverpool v Msn City (EPL 3/10/21 4.30pm)

Pep so wishes that City fans were like Liverpool’s

Finished the marathon 5 minutes before KO but missed the first half since I just didn’t feel like a human. Saw the second half, and while it’s frustrating to give up the lead twice, we could easily have lost it. A point was probably fair if a bit generous to us.

Very surprised Keita didn’t come on for Fabinho.

Klopp in brilliant form. He just loves exciting football and 2 teams trying to play. Contrast that interview with after we play Burnley etc

Fab moved like a Snail :snail:

Who the fk is peppy trying to blame now…a supporter and one of our backroom staff…just coz he couldn’t win…be careful peppy might come back and bite u…fu*ing idiot…just sit down duck egg…

Hard to see too many positives today. Performances the last two league games leaves a lot to be desired. Twice now dropping points after taking the lead twice in each game. Both with not too much time left.

Need to take control of the game more, manage the game, dictate the tempo. Not enough quality on the bench. Rather frustrating all round. Not a great start to the season for me. Need to improve.

How do we get rid of players nobody wants to buy.

Not having a go at Jones, but if he is going to cement himself as a first choice, these are the games he will need to step up in. He can’t be a passenger for 65 minutes (and to be fair the same could be said for much of our midfield for first 45) and expect to be front of mind for Jurgen. He did finish well like you said though.
Several comments about bringing on Ox, Keita etc. Again highlights why we need a stronger bench. If we don’t have players we can bring on against strong opponents, why bother?

He’s on the up in recent matches , but I just feel that Naby still lacks the “bite” to impose himself on a match like this atm.
Curtis certainly didn’t do as well as he did against Porto and I called for him to be subbed before we scored - after that Kloppo apparently was concerned about tipping the balance too much after he had to sub Millie for Joe - as in too many “cold” players in a defensive situation.

But I’m still torn about it - maybe Naby could have provided the smarts to control the ball better and manage the game if he only got on potentioally earlier than after we conceded the first to build steam.

Anyway I look at it - it’s a moot point now.

To be honest I think this game is a prime example of why we need the same type of quality in two right backs like we now have at left back.

If Robertson has to miss a game I think we’re all a lot less edgy than beforehand. I think both Milner and Gomez were caught out of position a number of times. And I’m not blaming them as they’re makeshift right backs but for all the criticism TAA gets he has been playing that position for years and so has a better understanding of where he should be at certain times.

Yes, I don’t think Henderson was at his best in helping out the right full back, as he’s been doing for years now and that helped City have space down that side but I just feel with a natural full back in there a lot of those City opportunities don’t happen.

How many times does peppy stick his head between his legs and spit…kettle calling pot…

Hardly the same. If one of our fans spat at their coach I hope he/she is banned for life. Disgusting

This is in part why i question the ambition and the direction at times of the club. It’s been evident for a couple of seasons probably at least about having another right back. It took a few seasons to recruit another forward in Jota.

The club spends little comparatively compared to most clubs let alone the top clubs. The club moves far too slow in improving the team.

And tbf Pep said it was just one idiot and that he loves coming to Anfield as the fans are brilliant

Agree - no clue how that would be a reason for their losing, but anyone spitting at anyone doesn’t need to ever be allowed to attend a game in person again.

And I am certainly aware of crap fans other places do - those tools deserve bans as well. Sport should be a safe and fun experience for all the fans.

In their defence (not saying that I disagree with you, however), we did win the Champions League and Premier League in consecutive seasons (would have won two titles but for that cheat Twatkinson) and accrued 196 points over two seasons.

How do you improve upon that?

But he didn’t know anything about it…if its proven yes get rid…but is it …we will find out…name n shame em.

The more I think about it, the more it drives me crazy. Why is Klopp not reacting to obvious problems in the game?

Both the Brentford match and this one saw us concede after taking the lead 4 times. All the goals came from situations that kept happening again and again. Not to mention Milner’s red card, which anyone could see coming from a mile away. He was really lucky with Tierney bottling it.
