Post match: Liverpool v Newcastle (EPL 24/4/21 12.30pm)

Let’s hope Curtis gets a regular place in the team and we get our hidden gem Harvey Elliot from Blackburn Rovers. :pray:t3: :palms_up_together:t3:

If we are given a big transfer budget this summer, I would prefer Sancho among the young attacking trios, as Haaland and Mbappe are demanding ridiculous wages. And I don’t him end up in a rival, especially United. He can actually play both on the right and the left (although mainly on the right), and with him we can play both 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. Harvey Barnes should be on target as well.

As for defenders, apparently we have basically signed Konate. But, I would prefer foregoing Kabak and going for Sven Botman. I would also try to buy Lloyd Kelly.

Midfielder: Camavinga, Neuhaus, Bissouma or Bellingham, depending on how attack/defend transfers proceed.

Yes, we will. We have had so many factors against us, major injuries to most important players, having a makeshift defence by using midfielders as defenders, no fans in the stadium, the pandemic has hit us all with staying at home all the time. It must have affected the players as well, they cannot socialise in each other’s houses to relax. It has all piled up one after another.

The gaffer needs to get rid of a few players, bring in fresh blood, redraw the tactics match. I think we have a good chance next season, with no major injuries and the fans roaring the players on. We just have to get through this season, rest and recuperate, have get away from it all holiday and reset for August and pre-season.

That’s what our Alan Hansen said and look what happened. There is always a silver lining.

United and Barca would have laughed hysterically at this comment.

Saw a list the other day how much the owners/chaiman’s of those 12 are worth. Henry came in last with a ‘lousy’ 2b.

Watching Liverpool is becoming increasingly frustrating. I don’t expect our players to score every chance but how many sitters did we miss today, and in most of our recent matches for that matter. The bonkers thing was that Mo’s early goal wasn’t even a half chance - it’s as if they miss when given more than half a second to think about it.

I’d pick out Fabinho playing out of position as a gripe but I don’t think that was a problem today.

Looks like Thursday night football unless the teams above us implode - or the teams below us out-point us which is probably more likely.

MotM to Mo for what it’s worth because I felt vaguely hopeful after 3 minutes.

Also half of our shots are so weak and directly at the keeper. Wonder if this is even getting addressed in training sessions at all.

IMO we need to pull £150m of net spend at the minimum to overhaul this team.

You are forgetting a major factor: match officials and their dislike for us. Unfortunately they will be still there next season.

How can we get out if Thursday night football?

Oh I hope so…its a lot to be winning for nearly 90 minutes and draw in the last minute… Which extra time was 4 mins…so why did the ref go to 6 mins…goal giving shitester of a ref…

Salah is a major perpetrator when it comes to shooting weak shots.

IMO, if you cannot throw a curve, highly-technical shots, just throw cannonballs.

Can anyone explain what has happened to Sadio. Mo passes to him with an open goal, just needing to pass the ball into the net, and he wants to take atouch

Wilko, we should have been at least 4-5 goals up in 1st half, then we could afford to let in a couple of goals from the opposition. Mo, Jota and Sadio missed a few good sitters. When, you only have a 1-0 goal lead towards the end of the 90 minutes, there is always a danger from the opponents letting one in, whilst we get a little complacent in the last few minutes.

Top 4 is out of our hands now and in the hands of the gods!

I am wondering, do you think Klopp needs a change of assistant to get new ideas in? Fergie was always changing some of his backroom staff every few years, so the team stayed fresh.

Oh, I don’t know what to think, how to rectify our out of form team.

If Mane is still here next season, we’re going to lose him to the African Cup of Nations for a while. If his current form continues, I can’t say I care much about that. He’s not here at the moment anyway!

Sorry boys but that is just not good enough. As a group of professional footballers you were pathetic. To be given a lucky reprieve by a dodgy VAR decision and then a minute later concede another is unbelievable. Can’t wait for the season to end. Gutted.

Yep, saw the 2nd half…but why with 5 mins, to go do we insist on giving the ball away, we should oick it up to the other end or even into the stands…
