Post match: Liverpool v Newcastle (EPL 24/4/21 12.30pm)

This is what Europa League looks like…I really hate this season, the worst title defense after winning the league in the modern era, it’s hard to fathom.

We don’t deserve top 4.

Wow Klopp saying we didn’t fight enough, telling that comment… he’s never said anything like that before.

Was coming for about ten minutes and even then we let them have two goes at it.

The first comes because we insisted on playing the high line even after they brought on a pacey lad to get in behind which he did on numerous occasions.

The second one we have 11 men behind the ball and still somehow leave a man unmarked in the centre of the box. Where was the third sub? Why not waste that time and add an extra man at the back for the last couple minutes.

They played Shelvey at CB for half the second half and we barely even tested him. He stood back and pinged the ball around with all the time in the world. Unforgivable.

The players have dropped their level significantly and the less likely we get CL then worse that will get. Trent, Robbo and Fab look fed up. Kabak must be wondering what he’s walked into. Gini has checked out and really should just be benched if he’s off. Thiago looked good. Thought it was odd to take him off as he gave us some control. After the second minute none of the front four did anything right. Sloppy passes, woeful finishing, wrong pass. How the mighty have fallen.

After a shit week this was the final nail in the coffin for this season. Next year we’re going to have to try and bounce back whilst potentially dealing with the slog of a Europa campaign. Can’t wait.

If we play with that high line, we’ll get done a cricket score.

Need Nat back to force us to drop deeper. To see out those last 5 minutes.

Kabak played well in parts, but he does not look comfortable at all with the high line. And if wants a permanent contract, he needs to adapt.

You said title, that happened in 1938.

Chelsea also finished 10th with 50 points in 2016.

Shiiit Klopp looks and sounds fucked off with his players. Writing on the wall for some I think. Said we don’t deserve top 4.

sorry, I was unclear. those numbers are on the low side of normal.

of course, like you say, not every dispossession is equal

For all our defensive and structural issues, and I do get the point that the team is a finely-balanced piece of machinery that needs all parts clicking to really fire, our finishing has been inexcusable.

Ok Jurgen, it’s got nothing to do with players who couldn’t score a goal, if their life depended on it? The number of chances wasted again FFS!

It’s about time, he can’t wrap them up and protect them forever. About time some of them got a reality check

Very frustrated Klopp on post match interview. Don’t blame him.

Still think Chelsea’s is worse, given that they finished 10th the year after, but I know it’s the biggest drop-off points-wise.

Some of the attacking around the box was training ground pissing around with your mates rubbish.

Mane should’ve been off, with Salah standing on Shelvey’s shoulders.

Yes, we created more than enough chances to win, but Klopp again, like that Leeds game, needs to be more pragmatic in those last few minutes to see us thorugh this sticky long patch.

We have plenty of days before each match, so needs to sort it out. Let’s see where we end up at the end of the season.

The end to this game was a reverse of the Trex=Origi last second winner.

I have been trying to be patient, and have said so since VVD got abused by those Bitters, but enough is enough. Just pissed off now particularly as I would have done things differently to Klopp (Gini and Firmino could have had me in a really pissed off mode by now if I hadn’t been patient).

I don’t think it’s hard to fathom at all when you consider the once-in-a-century global crisis paired with our once-in-a-century injury crisis

not to say we haven’t made missteps, but the fact that we have even stayed in the race for CL qualification says a lot about the level of inconsistency through the entire league

I can’t believe we are having a “worst champions ever” debate ffs.

Shouldn’t even be something contemplated, this isn’t the team that should even be in that discussion, yet here we are.

It’s reality i know but just seems so surreal and how far we came, and then dropped
