Post match: Liverpool v Newcastle (EPL 24/4/21 12.30pm)

37 point drop off was Chelsea, we need 9 points to avoid that.

Still Man City got relegated as football didn’t start in 1993

He shouldn’t be playing Fabinho at centre half - we can’t keep a clean sheet with him there and need him in midfield. When he plays in defence the game you just saw is the same as umpteen others this season, dominate the game, miss a shed load of half chances, concede near the end. I’m sick of it. Davis must be wondering what he has to do to get even 15 minutes in this side. JK doesn’t fancy him but seems prepared to risk a lot of points playing Fabinho in defence.

That team is fucking trolling.
No other rational explanation

Think I’m going to go vomit now.

Yet another game where the scoring opportunities were about 10-2, yet we’re finishing with a draw or loss, down to piss-poor finishing.

What an all round shit week this has been.

To be fair, some of it was his own doing though. If Klopp signed a proper defender ( which can only mean Ben Davies is so shit that even Rhy Williams gets ahead of him in the squad) early on in Jan window, regardless of Kabak coming in or not, we wouldn’t be in shit’s creek right now. If it was the finances that hindered him that, then John W Henry and Tom Werner should do the needful and sell their shares to raise funds.

All our forwards are completely out of form so why start a match with 4 of them on the pitch?
Why start a match with Gini in the team?
Why start our only DM left at CB?

15 points lost from winning positions. Utterly frustrating. This team needs a shake up especially up front. Bobby and Mane…I just don’t know anymore.

Listened to first half on phone…and watched the 2nd…all I could think of at 85 mins was thank f**k for that… At 95 mins I’m thinking fuck, fuck, fuck…why oh why oh why didn’t they oick it up the pitch…ffs…we panic trying to defend…come back virg , Joe and Joel…when will they ever return…god this is hard to take…its very stressful…

Hear Hear! Speak it louder for the lads at the back!

We need to join a super league so we don’t have to play these little clubs like Newcastle, Burnley, Brighton and Fulham who we can’t beat at home or away.

Ha ha! Women’s rugby is on TV and someone mentioned’ game management’ . Even they’ve heard of it, but sadly Klopp hasn’t.

O I agree, Klopp has had a stinker of a season in my opinion. His blind faith in the likes of Bobby, Mane and Gini is one of our biggest problems. Three players in the pits form wise.

Who should’ve played instead of them?

I could understand not winning again, finishing 2nd to City, no shame in that, although I’m glad we were able to beat them last year. We have certainly had our mitigating circumstances this year, we’ve been unlucky at times, and we’ve not been blown out except for the City and Villa results, so I get it. That said, to be solidly sixth and lose six home games on the bounce is inexcusable, as number of poor decisions on and off the field have left us in a bad state. There will be an inquest this summer for sure.

Agree. Game management was terrible. No defensive and time wasting changes. Kept giving the ball back to Newcastle to attack us again. We kept trying to score again. No running to corner flag. Playing loosely instead of tightening up especially after getting a VAR break and disallowed goal in our favor.

But the bottom line it shouldn’t have been this close in the end to begin with…

No, I agree, if just a couple of the many chances we had were taken, then their last minute goal makes no difference whatsoever.

most sullen and negative i have seen klop… normally he will defend the players regardless of result but not today

What a way to ruin a nice weekend.

Well, we do have Jota until he got fucked in the dead rubber champions league match. As for Gini, I think it can be traced to the Fabinho at CB issue which I do not want to bleat on.
