Why is it the only thing we can win? Are we out of the FA Cup already? Have we been kicked out of the CL?

No,but unless we get into something resembling form, we stand no chance at the Champions League. (I am not criticising team selection or saying that this cup should be a priority, just the idea that it is âgoodâ to not advance). FA Cup, sure we have a chance. If we get better. But matching for the reserves would be very, very nice imo. We never play them after all. So if injuries and someone has to step up ? Problem.

Except I didnât go to an early round League Cup game. We were playing for a place in the last 8.
Klopp used to put out weak teams in the early rounds of cups and say that he thought it was the best team to get through, and Iâd think âfuck off bossâ
Klopp hated this tournament until he got into the late rounds. I remember his reaction when he found out the semi final was two legs.
Slot âdisrespectingâ this cup, would not be a new position for an LFC manager to take, or any manager for that matter.

Itâs not. Of course we have a technical chance to win it, but is it realistic ? I donât think so. And before you call me too negative, I was the first person on this forum that dared say that we would win the title last year. I am not a negative person, but we are very far from good enough so far.
Just as I dared say last season that we would win the title, I dare say that itâs extremely unlikely we will this season, unless a small miracle happens.

Itâs the second one. There is still a quarter, two semis and final to go.
3rd actually, we got a bye first round which Iâm sure youâre aware of.
But he matched the reserves, sometimes played them in the first team. Seriously, Mascot, donât you think it would be GOOD for them to get to play more games in this cup in case we actually need them ? I donât see a single positive with going out early really.
Note though: I did not complain about the team selection, just challenging the idea that itâs good that we are out. I really donât subscribe to that idea.
It becomes a vicious circle. Iâve seen Endo and Gomez getting all sorts of abuse tonight but what the fuck do people expect when theyâre getting thrown under the bus? Slotâs management of certain players in his time here has been fucking dreadful.

I didnât expect to see the first 11, Iâll give you that. But to not at least have 4 or 5 big-hitters on the bench - you know, if weâre chasing the game - is fucking nonsense.
That Plymouth side was good enough to beat Plymouth though.
They let themselves down, canât really complain with the lads tonight.

None of those teams look unbeatable
You can only talk about these things in retrospect.
I always say with the league cup, if you donât win it, go out early.
During the game I obviously want to win it, and by the way I think so does Slot - which is why he doesnât have first teamers on the bench. Having committed to idea that these lads are getting a week off to work on their issues, he doesnât want them there to tempt him while his chimp is out and he want to win a game of football.
But after the game, there are positives. I appreciate the point about game time for players like Endo and Gomez, but we might better off not having these games backing up. The league cup final was the point where we started looking knackered.

Not from me. I think we picked up some quite lucky points without actually playing very well. We have seen some very good Champions League games, but not Premier League games, imo. You canât just look at the points, but how we play, in my opinion.
I respect you a lot, but maybe we donât agree here. That is fine. Letâs just hope it improves soon, we all want the same regardless.

I donât agree with us being better off playing less games (reserves needs matching, so does some from the first team, imo), as I said, which I suppose is our only real disagreement.
