Post match: Liverpool v Palace (ELC 29/10/25 7.45pm)

If we were on a decent run I don’t think anyone would be too bothered about last night. I wasn’t.. although I do get the anger of those who paid to attend and I have heard that anger expressed by local fans on Radio Merseyside.

If we get, and it is a big if, good results against Villa, Madrid and City then it will be largely forgotten. If we don’t, then he has added extra fuel to the fire. I felt sorry for the younger players last night. A truly vile night weatherwise and I’m not sure what they would have learned from that game.

PSG are a good reference point, because at this point in last year, they were an absolutely joke. Their CL group stage was a disaster, and they are lucky the play in a one team league.

Then they clicked, their new players settled, and suddenly they looked like the best team in the world.

If we end up like last year’s PSG, I won’t complain.
A lot of people here might end up eating their words eventually, I hope so, even though personally, I still struggle to see the vision right now.

I’ve followed your posts, and I have to say that even though we used to clash toward the end of the Rodgers era when I wanted him gone, you didn’t, I genuinely admire the way you defend the manager and the faith you have in Slot.

And honestly, those calling Slot a “bald fraud” after he just delivered the title, now he’s being left to walk alone in the first rough spell of a transitional period, really need some perspective. Unfair

I miss Klopp too. I still haven’t fully come to terms with his departure and I didn’t really understand Slot throwing this game when Klopp would’ve used it as a chance to drill the first XI or mix rotation, but it’s a new era, and managers have different philosophies.

Some fans here are worse than our rivals on RedCafe, ffs.

Thanks for that, but I did want Rodgers gone in the end. I’m usually a late adopter when it comes to sacking a manager.

My biggest problem is when it all starts getting a bit personal.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

Not just putting the boot in on the lad because he’s got bags of potential but the decision to not replace Diaz because Ngumoha was going to get more game time looks like one of the worst calls we’ve made in a long time. He’s a long way off being ready.

I’m guilty of getting a bit over excited about him, and I’ve been wanting Slot to actually use him more if he is the talent he is thought of as being.

But against Brentford, I found myself feeling like Slot had made the wrong decision throwing him into that shitfest. And that exactly how we should feel about someone who is still technically a child.

Top five!!!??

If we miss out on the champions league, I’d hope Arne would be dismissed!

I am only saying that a top 5 finish would be acceptable to me - I’m very sure the owners will make their own judgement.
