Post match: Liverpool v PSG (UCL 11/3/25 8pm)

“So many players”

Really? This was a close contest between two top sides that could have gone either way. We need to strengthen a couple of key areas, not throw the baby out with the bath water

That’s 11 players at least that we need to sell and replace nevermind if Salah and Van Dijk don’t sign new deals. Worrying times.

Ah, but you’re forgetting that our squad is so crap that it’s only 15 points clear at the top of the league.

Two things…

Felt a bit like Ath Madrid… At least we won the title that season so let’s hope eh.

Secondary all those injuries for fuck all to be honest. I sadly feel it’s put the final in jeopardy with those injuries and playing 120 minutes.

Only bonus is the league lead and that international break. Miserable night.

The sad thing is that I had absolutely no doubt he was going to miss. Absolutely none at all.

Winning the league, but half the squad needs to be replaced?..Ok…

Bollox. We should have kept a clean sheet here. Very annoying that the goal conceded was a bit of a cock up.

Having said that, PSG deserved the result overall.

On to Sunday and an actual final. Unfortunately, it does mean our season is likely to peter out in April (for good reasons).

The League cup provides a great opportunity to up the players morale and to bounce back.

We needed to score during the game, penos are 50/50.We had our chances but didn’t take them and that’s why we lost tonight.

Over 2 legs they were significantly better than us. Very disappointed on how we approached the tie. We sort of gave up the battle of possession before the first leg started, now a winners attitude imo.

I usually don’t care too much about the stats, but it actually sums up what I’ve seen over two games. they were a really good side, comfortable on the ball, good passing, well organized and good pressing.

We definitely had our chances tonight but it wasn’t to be. Unlucky that a Trent had to go off, I thought he was magnificent second half, playing almost as a playmaker Pirlo style. Quansah had a good game when we came on but the other subs were really disappointing. We lost momentum and in extra time created nothing while they looked dangerous.

Bad pens from Darwin and Jones, but Donnaruma is good at penalties.

Let’s win the LC and then the league asap.

Do not get this thinking. Slot’s first season and we top the league stage, are going to win the league and are in a cup final.

No one has a divine right to win everything all the time, especially European competitions.

We need a striker, a midfielder and a left back plus whatever the outcome of those contracts are.

Totally. Can’t see any reason why we should not. So close to winning the league and league cup is not acceptable in the first season Slot is having. We should replace slot and get Amorim maybe. And give some huge 8 year contracts to new players who we should then replace with new players in 6 months because they won’t win anything in 6 months. That’s the way to run a football club

Spot on.

I’ve no time for the bedwetting. This team is top by miles with a team that’s not even the finished article. That’s exciting, not worrying.

We were the better team tonight but PSG deserved to go through over the two legs. Would be no surprise if they go on and win it.

We left it all out there against them but it wasn’t quite enough.

A disappointing evening and some under-par performances from a very tired team.

Disappointing end to our Champions League campaign.
